Brewer American Legion Post 98

Our mission: Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation, National Security, Americanism and Children & Youth All veterans are invited to attend.

The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization. Focusing on service to veterans, service-members and communities, the Legion evolved from a group of war-weary veterans of World War I into one of the most influential nonprofit groups in the United States. Today, membership stands at nearly 2 million in more than 13,000 posts worldwide. Anyone who served i

n the military, was on active duty at least 1 day and has an honorable discharge can be a Legionnaire

Brewer Post 98 supports veterans and the communities of Brewer, Clifton, Dedham, Eddington, Holden and Orrington. We hold Post meetings on the 1st Monday of each month at the Joseph L. Ferris Community Center (Brewer Auditorium) at 318 Wilson Street in Brewer. Our meetings start with dinner and ends with a guest speaker. In addition to our monthly meeting, Post 98 is involved in community activities, fundraisers, recognizing public servants for their exceptional service and events for veterans and our Post. We are “Veterans Strengthening America”

A few members from the Daniel E Geagan, American Legion Post 98, Brewer spent time this week helping a fellow veteran and his wife, repair and paint their backyard shed, which was desperately needed.

Congratulations to our local Brewer High School Juniors, Cris Armstrong and Matthew Goodwin, for attending and graduating from Dirigo State (formerly known as Boys & Girls State) at Colby College in June!

We are very proud of them!

We want to thank the Daniel E Geagan Brewer American Legion Post 98 and Brewer High School for sponsoring and providing them this great and memorable opportunity!

We thank them for taking the time to visit our Post July meeting to share their experience with our legionnaires.
