We kicked off our 2026–2027 Career Day Series yesterday with Professional Services Day!

In partnership with Transylvania County Schools and Blue Ridge Community College, students from Brevard High School and Rosman High School spent the morning walking through downtown Brevard and hearing directly from local professionals about careers in law, banking, architecture, real estate, and accounting.

A huge thank you to the Brevard offices of First Citizens Bank and Pisgah Legal Services, McKeller Law, PLATT, Howard Hanna Beverly-Hanks Brevard, and Trish Cheek, CPA for opening their doors, sharing their experiences, and giving students a firsthand look at the many professional career opportunities available right here in Transylvania County.

It was a great start to this year’s four-part Career Day Series!

Transportation and Economic Development go hand-in-hand and we hope our neighbors and partners throughout Transylvania County will participate in these sessions to make sure your voice is heard!

What’s even better than a night out downtown? An evening in the library talking about going downtown!

The In the Loop Downtown Brevard Circulation Study is exploring ways to improve travel, safety, and access along the Broad and Caldwell Street corridors while supporting downtown Brevard’s character and vitality. Crews have analyzed traffic patterns, safety trends, pedestrian activity, bicycle connections, parking, and future growth to better understand today’s challenges and opportunities. Now we want to hear from you!

We hope you'll join us at the first public input session, which will be held on Monday, August 31, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. in the Transylvania County Library’s Rogow Room (212 S Gaston Street)!

We are excited to announce that Custom Tube Products, Inc. is expanding in Brevard!

Following its recent acquisition, the company is growing its operations and workforce, with plans to create at least 15 new jobs over the next two years.

This expansion highlights the strength of advanced manufacturing in Transylvania County and the value of partnerships with Blue Ridge Community College and Transylvania County Schools to support workforce development.

Custom Tube Products is actively hiring, with opportunities ranging from entry-level positions to skilled roles.

Life Sciences Day in the "RTP of the West" was a big success.

Raybow USA and Gaia Herbs did a fantastic job hosting science students from Transylvania County Schools highlighting the many career paths available after graduation and how Blue Ridge Community College can help them prepare to enter the workforce.

Transylvania County has one of the highest clusters of biotech and life sciences west of the Research Triangle and we love showing it off to the next generation of our dynamic workforce.
