Voting is free although you can donate to the charity and the amount of your donation will add that number of votes for Dexter! Thanks in advance!

Dexter is a teddybear of a ragdoll. He is very vocal and we have long conversations. He cuddles me at night and sometimes grooms my hair.

Fairy Tale - lyrics and music by Belinda Bach © 1989 http://belindabach.com/Fairy_Tale.mp3

Fairy Tale (Lyrics)

And all the time the story bends,
Makes no sense at all.
But the book's own spine is breaking
And I'll be the one to take the fall.
And I don't want to find the cure
If it's worse than the disease.
And why should I break the ice
If I know it's going to bleed.

(Refrain)
But that's how fairy tales are when they're trapped in reality.
All the king's horses and all the king's men
Can't bring dreamers back to life.
And if there's another way
Please tell me, and I'll write it sweetly.
But otherwise find your own happily ever after.

The dragon that was fought and defeated
Is back to find a reason.
The fairest of the fair is old now
And nothing is the same.
So find yourself a modern story
And write it on the wall.
'Cause I don't mean to break your heart
But these fairy tales aren't true at all.

(Refrain)

So don't you make me fly again
If flying means I'll fall.
And don't you make me breathe again;
This air is too thick for me.
And there's no time to fix the plot,
The plot may disappear.
And is there just a broken song
That's ringing in my ears?

(Refrain)

Belinda said she got the inspiration for this looking into her rear view mirror where she saw a beautiful sunset with a violet sky. I should do a YouTube video of this with sunset images.

Again you can hear the influence of Phillp Glass. She also loves to put two or more melodies together like her dad.

Third movement of her Serenata. Again, you can hear the influence of Philip Glass. Belinda was still in high school when she wrote this. http://belindabach.com/serenata3.mp3

Serenata, second movement. - Again, synthesizer strings. Would sound much better with acoustic string orchestra!

Belinda called it a symphony - 3 movements, about 3 minutes each and thematically linked. She wrote it after a summer at Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan. I called it a Serenata because she scored it for strings alone. It could be scored for full symphony orchestra. It could even be scored for voices! This recording is done with synthesizer strings. She was very much influenced by Philip Glass.

Did Anyone Approach You is one of three arrangements Belinda made for the Aha international fan meet in Los Angeles, performed by Ockham's Razor. In this song, the upper voice is Patrick's part of the time and Belinda's part of the time. It is often hard to tell which is which. When she was arranging this, Belinda called me and asked if I could figure out the little figure in Aha's arrangement as it is quite tricky. I was working and I said I would listen to it later and try to figure it out. Belinda called back later and had figured it out on her own. She did all the instrumentals on her Proteus using Pro Audio 9 on her computer. I don't know why the band broke up, but a producer in Fort Lauderdale later told me he was ready to fly the whole band down to Florida to do some recording. Sad that it never transpired. http://belindabach.com/Did_Anyone_Approach_You.mp3
