Thank you, BellyRubs!
Yesterday was an amazing day. Thanks to our excellent transport team, the “Magnificent Seven” were safely delivered to their foster homes. AND they now have names. Thanks to everyone who donated to the “Name Game” (it was fun). We raised $2,100.00 to help with vetting costs for these guys! And there is still time to give. Donate at BellyRubs.org.
If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application at BellyRubs.org. If you have previously applied, please contact us and let us know that you are interested. They will need a full vet work-up and some time to adjust prior to adoption, so they are not quite ready for forever homes. So, please be patient.

The Magnificent Seven:
On Saturday., BellyRubs will rescue 7 basset hounds (2 males and 5 females) from a probable backyard breeding situation. Left outside with little human interaction for most of their lives, these babies do not even have names! Thanks to our awesome volunteers, we have fosters ready for all of them! However, these babies will need plenty of love and care. And that includes significant vetting. BellyRubs spends about $500 per dog on basic vetting (shots and spay/neuter). That cost climbs quickly with any required meds or further treatments. So, to raise money for vetting these babies, we are running a “Name That Basset” Game. For a $25 donation, you can suggest a name. All the names will be put on a wheel (like Wheel of Fortune) and we will spin for names. You can enter as many names as you want, but each name costs $25. Please make a donation on our website at bellyrubs.org and message Kathy Kontrim with your name choice. We will “spin the wheel” on Saturday afternoon, after we pick them up, so have your donation and name in no later than NOON on Saturday (5/9).

We are sending “perseverance vibes” to our many BellyRubs volunteers across Tennessee, who are still suffering the effects of the winter storm. Hoping for sunshine and warmth soon-and powerfor many . Yana says “come on spring!”

Thank you, BellyRubs Rubs family, for helping us finish last year strong! In 2025, we placed over 65 dogs in forever homes. But this is a group effort. Volunteers come in all types. Maybe you are unable to foster or transport but still want to help. Well, did you know that, on average, we spend at least $200 more than our adoption fee on each dog? Without financial support, we would be unable to save these hounds. So, in honor of National Basset Hound Day, please consider a donation to BellyRubs. No amount is too small. Ways to give:

As we begin a new year, Belly Rubs Basset Rescue wishes to thank all of our volunteers for a wonderful 2025. Our intake, transport, foster, and adoption teams are amazing! In 2025, over 60 hounds were adopted into forever homes! Thank you to all our adopters who have opened their home and their hearts to our hounds! Here are just a few of our BellyRubs 2025 alums.
