In celebration of her birthday, Shirley McDowell, Founder of Kids First International, chose to give back by spreading hope and compassion where it was most needed.

Our team visited Lagos Island Maternity Hospital Nigeria with a simple mission: to ease burdens and put smiles on faces by clearing outstanding medical bills for some families.

During our visit, we met a courageous mother who delivered premature triplets and, tragically, lost one of her babies. She is now caring for the two surviving infants. We also encountered a young woman who suffered severe complications after childbirth, lost her baby, and had been on life support for several days.

Kids First International stepped in to fully cover their hospital expenses, offering not just financial relief, but compassion, dignity, and hope during an incredibly difficult time.

This is more than charity — it is humanity in action.
