Today we honor and remember Officer Glennon Fernau. On May 29, 2009, Officer Glennon Fernau died as a result of injuries sustained when he pursued a suspect in 2003. A fall during the pursuit caused partial paralysis and, later, spinal injury. Officer Fernau died from complications in surgery.

Officer Fernau served with the Florissant Police Department for three years. He left behind his wife and three children, ages 17-, 15- and 8-years old.

We will never forget the life and legacy of Officer Glennon Fernau.

Florissant Police Officer Michael Vernon was catastrophically injured in the line of duty on May 28, 2012; he was shot while responding to a burglary, resulting in paralysis from the waist down.

We honor Officer Michael Vernon and the sacrifices he made for our safety.

BackStoppers Executive Director, Lt. Col. Lawrence O'Toole attended the 40th Annual St. Louis Police Memorial Breakfast last week. This event is held to honor and remember the 168 SLMPD officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Today and everyday we pay our respects to all fallen and catastrophically injured heroes, and we consider it an honor to serve their families.

We would like to congratulate Kelsey Cova, daughter of Affton Fire Capt. Jim Cova, EOW 7/9/24. Kelsey just received a Bachelors in Health Science with emphasis in Leadership and Policy with Multicultural Studies and Fitness Programming Management Certificates with Honors in only three years! Kelsey plans to continue onto grad school at Mizzou. Way to go, Kelsey!

Today we honor and remember Paramedic Jonathan Noce. On May 25, 2016, Paramedic Jonathan Noce died in the line of duty when he was found unresponsive at the ambulance district.

Paramedic Noce was serving with the Joachim-Plattin Ambulance District and Osage County EMS. He left behind his wife and two daughters.

We will never forget the life and legacy of Paramedic Jonathan Noce.
