This is not a political post. This is a morality post. There is no “right” way to enter the USA. Borders are imaginary. You have been spoon-fed racist rhetoric from the imperialist West. All oppression and violence are connected.

Hey everyone, this is another reminder to take care of the community fridge and pantry. We appreciate all the efforts that go into the fridge and pantry. The community fridge and pantry is a space that provides dignity and safety to everyone who uses the resource. But we must ensure the items being donated are handled with care. It took us 3 hours to clean up the pantry. At this time we cannot take canned goods anymore. Instead of canned goods rice, pasta, shelf-stable milk, kid-friendly cereal, peanut butter, jelly or snacks would be greatly appreciated and welcomed.

Much love to everyone!

Hi everyone, we are truly grateful for the incredible support from the community!

At this time, we are at capacity for canned goods and boxed stuffing, so please redirect any additional donations of these items to other local food pantries that may be in need.

We also kindly ask that no rotten or spoiled food be left at the Garden Ministry or placed in the trash cans on site. These bins belong to our hosts, and disposing of spoiled food there has created hygiene concerns. Maintaining a clean, safe space is our top priority.

Thank you again for your generosity, understanding, and continued support of the community fridge at Garden Ministry.

Before and after pictures of a deep clean of the fridge from Sunday! Thank you to the individual who took time out of their day and cleaned the fridge. Cleaning and organizing the fridge is one of the most time-consuming tasks. You will break a sweat and be there for at least an hour. The not-so-romantic things of running a community fridge. 😎🫶🏼

7/16/26 — living archive of the community fridge and pantry. Community fridges are imperfect and will not solve food insecurity. But it is a space where people can actively engage in taking back their agency. 🤟🏽😎

Before and after photos from our Sunday afternoon fridge cleanup and refill. Just a friendly reminder: please only put unopened food in the fridge, and always store vegetables in a container. If you wouldn’t eat it, please don’t place it in the fridge. Let’s all do our part to keep the fridge as organized and clean as possible. Maintaining a community fridge takes a lot of time. Please do not toss food in the fridge. If the food looks undesirable the food will go to waste.

Thank you everyone for the constant maintenance of the fridge. Thank you for cleaning the fridge and restocking it. 🫶🏼
