To the rugby mums,

We have been privileged to coach an exceptional group of young men of character. We are especially grateful to the wonderful women who have trusted us with your boys—entrusting them to a sport you may not fully understand, yet watching them come home bruised, bloody, and muddy… but always with a big smile.

From all of us on the coaching staff, we also want to send special thanks to our own mums.

Saturday is a rugby day. The Lads are going to Ellensburg to play the Moscow team.

This will be last game of the season, under the new head coach- Brandon Cast.

It is also the last of Coach Shephard's final events as a coach of the Kitsap Youth Rugby program he started in 1992- final season, final home game, final practice, and today final game. As mentioned before, a bittersweet event.

What a bittersweet practice this will be. After coaching Kitsap Youth Rugby since 1992, tonight will be my last practice as a Kitsap Youth coach. I will literally hand my whistle over to the new head coach, Brandon Cast.

This is the first of many steps we are taking to rebuild a program that has endured for many years, and in the process, changed the lives of many young men and women.

I will be at the last game of the season in two weeks for what will truly be the final curtain of my local coaching experience. I am proud of the program, and so very proud of the players and coaches who have grown into better people because of the sport played in heaven.

Saturday is a Rugby Day,
Come watch HS Rugby
-Kick off is out 1:00PM, Ridgetop MS in Silverdale
-Playing Ellensburg
-We are a combined team with Tacoma -Only home game this season
-Lads currently have a 2-2 record

This will be Coach Shephard's last home game as a coach for Kitsap Youth Rugby. The team is being handed over to the next generation of dedicated men and women. Brandon Cast has been training this season as head coach, and we have already seen his positive impact on the team.

We already have a dedicated coach in place and a real desire to rebuild this side of the club. To make it happen, we need a broader range of voices, experiences, and perspectives on our Board.

We have openings at multiple levels, including:

-Program Directors
-At‑Large Directors

Experience in organizational leadership, nonprofit work, or community programs is valuable. Rugby knowledge is not required, just a willingness to contribute your skills, passion, and time to help our club grow.

Great news from the Kitsap–Tacoma squad!
The team earned its first victory of the season this past weekend, edging out a tough and competitive Yakima-Pendelton side.

Final score: 35–32

We have a bye this coming weekend, but the boys are hungry to build on this win and carry that momentum into our next matchup against the Seattle Vikings in Burlington the following week.

Stay tuned and keep supporting the team as we continue to grow and compete.
