First off, thank you so much to Scott Cashman and the State Farm team for their incredibly generous donation to the Kitsap Athletic Roundtable. Partnerships like this are what keep KAR moving forward and allow us to continue investing in youth and amateur athletics throughout our community.

Scott is a third-generation insurance professional, and even in the short time we spent together, it was easy to see the integrity, professionalism, and genuine care that he and his team bring to their business and the people they serve.

We’re grateful to have community partners like Scott and the State Farm who believe in giving back and helping create opportunities for the next generation of athletes.

**Legends of the Roundtable**
The Kitsap History Museum and the Kitsap Athletic Roundtable continue to feature Legends from the Roundtable, a series celebrating the athletes whose achievements have become part of Kitsap's rich sports history.

This week, in recognition of the FIFA World Cup finals, we are featuring the Bremerton Chuggers.

Influenced by a foreign exchange student from Morocco, the founding members of the Bremerton Chuggers started kicking the soccer ball around in 1973. The Chuggers played 27 years, competing in the Washington State Soccer League (now called the Greater Seattle Soccer League) for 16 seasons, then for several more years in over-30 and over-40 leagues. There were more than 100 players on the team over the years before it disbanded in 2000. The team won the Division 4 state league title in 1981 and 1985, the year they were unbeaten in league play.

**Legends of the Roundtable**
The Kitsap History Museum and the Kitsap Athletic Roundtable continue to feature Legends from the Roundtable, a new series celebrating the athletes whose achievements have become part of Kitsap's rich sports history.

This week we shine the lights on Norm Dicks.

Former Congressman Norm Dicks was a 1959 graduate of West High School in Bremerton who starred in football both offensively and defensively. After serving as team captain in fall 1958, Dicks brought his game to the University of Washington, where he played both guard and linebacker under Coach Jim Owens from 1960-1962. Dicks’s years at UW included a trip to the Rose Bowl. Dicks went on to earn a law degree in 1968 as a Husky before becoming a member of Congress for 18 consecutive terms for Washington’s 6th District from 1977 to 2013. The Norm Dicks Government Center in downtown Bremerton is named in his honor.

**Legends of the Roundtable**
The Kitsap History Museum and the Kitsap Athletic Roundtable are proud to launch Legends from the Roundtable, a new series celebrating the athletes whose achievements have become part of Kitsap's rich sports history.

Our first spotlight shines on Joe Sullivan.

A standout at Silverdale High School, Sullivan's pitching talent carried him all the way to the major leagues. He signed with the Detroit Tigers and went on to pitch for the Boston Bees and the Pittsburgh Pirates during a five-year career. Over 588 innings, he compiled a 30–37 record, a 4.01 ERA, and 216 strikeouts.

From Silverdale to the big leagues, Sullivan's story is a reminder that some of Kitsap's greatest stories have been played out on fields, diamonds, pools, pitches, and courts across America.

KAR is currently revitalizing our annual membership to help expand our impact across Kitsap County and North Mason. One of our major focuses is launching a county-wide scholarship program that will support one male and one female athlete at each of the ten high schools in our area.

KAR has been serving youth and amateur athletes in Kitsap County since 1967, and we are excited to keep building on that tradition.
