As we close out 2025, the American Legion Riders Chapter 607 would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who supported the many programs we proudly sponsor throughout the year.

Recently, through our Flags for Vets program, we had the honor of presenting 13 veterans with encased flags at Thomas Rest Haven and Park View Assisted Living. This meaningful event was made possible in part by the generosity of our community sponsors who provided monetary donations:
Culligan Water Conditioning of Carroll, Culver’s of Carroll, Drees Co., Lidderdale Country Store, Lions Club of Carroll, Sharp Funeral Home, State Farm Insurance of Carroll, United Bank of Iowa, and Windstar Bus Lines.

Statement from the American Legion of Iowa Commander

On behalf of the American Legion Department of Iowa and our members across the state, we mourn the heartbreaking loss of two Iowa National Guardsmen who gave their lives in service to our nation.

These brave soldiers answered the call to duty with honor and courage, knowing the risks, yet committed to protecting the freedoms we hold dear. Their sacrifice is a solemn reminder that freedom is not free, and that even today, Iowans continue to stand watch on distant shores in defense of liberty.

We extend our deepest condolences to the families, loved ones, and fellow service members of the fallen. No words can ease your grief, but please know that the American Legion family stands with you in prayer, gratitude, and unwavering support. We also lift up the wounded soldiers in our thoughts, wishing them strength and a full recovery.

The American Legion remains steadfast in honoring the legacy of those who serve and in supporting our National Guard members and their families—today and always. May these fallen heroes never be forgotten, and may their service inspire us to live worthy of their sacrifice.
