he classics to newer works, we train and support the next generation of theater artists, we provide arts education programs that promote life-long learning to a diverse community, and we celebrate the essential power of the theater to illuminate our common humanity.

No reflection? You might want to start asking questions. 👀🪞

Traditional vampire lore says vampires couldn’t be seen in mirrors or cast a shadow. Mirrors were once believed to reflect a person’s soul, and since the undead were thought to have lost theirs… there was nothing to reflect. 🧛

So if you’re standing next to someone and the mirror looks a little empty, maybe don’t stick around to investigate.

Vampires didn’t get their bats. Bats got their vampires. 👀

When European explorers encountered blood-drinking bats in Central and South America, the creatures eventually became known as vampire bats. Over time, bats and vampires became so closely linked in popular culture that now it’s hard to imagine one without the other.

And we have a feeling you’ll be seeing a few more bats around Brecksville soon… 🩸🦇

Those iconic vampire fangs? They weren’t always part of the story. 🧛

Traditional vampire folklore often described something much stranger than the sharp-toothed vampires we know today. Some appeared as mist, some had perfectly normal teeth, and certain Slavic legends gave them pointed or barbed tongues instead. 👀

Suddenly the fangs don’t seem so bad…

In 1892, the death of Mercy Brown became part of New England’s infamous vampire panic. After tuberculosis devastated her family, townspeople suspected something supernatural, and her body was exhumed in an attempt to stop it. ⚰️
