Anna Lisa is part of the heartbeat of the kitchen. Her sweet and gentle spirit is calming when things get a little hectic. She gladly took on the monumental role of dishwasher but does anything and everything from peeling potatoes, plating food, to making beds. And she often has things in her amazon cart and ordered before we barely finish saying we need them! Thank you for all that you do!!! We love and appreciate you, Anna Lisa 🫶

One of many Davids that serve, David Peck is an integral part of the team. He helps lead one of our most impactful exercises with wisdom and thought-provoking questions. His humor brings laughter and joy throughout the weekend and he's happy to run errands when needed, but we most appreciate him for his amazing talent to help us enter into the throne room of heaven through worship. Allison's sweet voice is the one you'll hear when contacting Camp Refuge. She coordinates all aspects of registration and facility rentals. She calls each guest prior to retreats, welcomes them with a friendly smile upon check-in, and leads a fun game. Behind the scenes she's eager to help wherever she can, whether that's helping to make breakfast and special goodies for lunch or coordinating all the details for preparation of the grounds for facility rentals. We're so grateful for her calm demeanor, willing spirit, and the order she brings to our team! Thank you, Allison, for all you do!

Monica is Scott's beautiful other half and another vital member of our team! Not only does she serve alongside Scott as table leaders during retreats, she helps in the kitchen wherever needed AND has taken on the MONUMENTAL task of washing all the linens between retreats and facility rentals!! In addition to making them smell fresh, she packages each tent's linens separately and in reverse order🙌making things quicker and easier for our setup crew! We love you Monica and appreciate all that you do! 🫶

Scott was Kevin and Nicole's mailman when they started the retreats on family land in Lafayette. He saw tents go up and thought maybe it was a Boy Scout thing. Then saw the wedding tents that we used for dining and sessions and wanted to know more! Scott and his amazing wife Monica (you'll get to know her later 😉) attended a Rustic Romance Retreat in March of 2024 and have served together ever since. Scott has a HUGE servant's heart and is ready and willing to help with any task. "Where is Scott Broussard?" is heard and said MANY times during a retreat because he is always off doing something. He is in charge of all things maintenance, helps prepare for guests' arrival, wakes up before dawn to make coffee for early risers, and stays up late to set and light the bonfire for the guests' enjoyment. He takes off of work to "work" at Camp Refuge. He views it as his therapy to be in this peaceful place. We love Scott so much and are incredibly grateful that he has chosen to partner with us on this mission that the Care Team wants shirts that say, "Where is Scott Broussard?" Thank you for everything you do, Scott!!

Spring 2026 season is officially over. We are so thankful for everyone that helped make it the success that it was: our Care Team, Blue Shirt Crew, Pookies, Trust Walk Trolls!! You guys are AMAZING! We could not do it without you. It takes a small army to ensure our retreats run smoothly, generally a 1:1 ratio, for every guest there is a Care Team Member and they are 100% volunteers! God has surrounded us with incredible people that share and believe in our mission. So, during this off season we will be singling them out, honoring them, letting you know how great they are, and how much we appreciate them. 🫶

Our hearts are full! Another group of beautiful couples went through our marriage retreat this past weekend and what a laughter and joy filled weekend it was!!🫶It was our honor to serve, encourage, and give them tools to help their marriages thrive.
