We often found dropped-off items like this, stuffed into the same box or big packaging (large dog food bag), then all mixed together with items that are either not supposed to be mixed with each other (pet foods packaging, coffee bag), not accepted for the Food Packaging program (CRV bottle, plastic utensils, cardboard packaging), or belong in a different collection program (dental care packagings.)

Please make a change in your waste habit and recycle better. You can sort and organize your recycling items from the beginning, don’t put them away for months with the thought of having someone else do the work for you in mass volumes.

Please DO NOT stuff and mix items like this. We found CRV bottle and cardboard packaging items that are not accepted and have never been accepted for our Food Packagings ♻️ collections. Those items are commonly accepted by municipal and city programs.

This is not an acceptable batch of recycling. The contaminated zip loc bag ruined the entire collection in this box of mixed items. We found pet food packagings, children food packagings, coffee bags all mixed together. And then there was rain water at the bottom of the box. 😟

IMPORTANT NOTICE: For Food Packaging Recycling Collection Month in February 2026, we will only accept pre-sorted items as the example shown in this video. Great thanks to this Particular Participant, we appreciate your attention to details very much 😍

“Someone is going to recycle this.” - Most of us.

NO ONE is going to recycle what you see in the pictures. If you didn’t want to your waste and you keep adding them to the already piled up waste in the receptacles, why do you expect someone would take care of the waste problem for you?

As we are approaching the end of Food Packaging ♻️ Collection month on October 31st, we’d like to remind our Recycling Participants to please NOT drop off your items all mixed together like this example. There were: Snack and Bread packagings, Pet food packagings, Coffee Packagings all stuffed into a dog food bag 😱😨😔

We and .now.ca Team are here to help you , not . We are a collecting program, not a waste recycler. We depend on TerraCycle for the heavy-lifting work of recycling. If we keep disregarding their strict requirements, it result in us being removed from their programs and there will be nothing we can do from then on.

Items had to be manually sorted to comply with TerraCycle regulations. This took up to 3 hours on mass collection and it’s not efficient or effective. Please try to change your waste habits and help us sort your waste from the beginning, not piling them up for 3 month long then have someone else do it for you.

Did you know that condiment packages can be through TerraCycle’s sponsored program?

Our ♻️ collection program is collecting rinsed and dry packages between now and October 31st.

How many of these packages will you be able to divert from landfills and waterways by recycling with us at .now.ca? Stop by to visit, check out awesome eco-conscious products and events, and recycle at Eco Now - Costa Mesa, Garden Grove, and Riverside store locations.

Please be advised that these items are to be recycled with Taco Bell sponsored program, which is separate from all other food packaging programs. Please DO NOT mix them together with any other food packaging items. Thank you for your understanding and helping us being efficient during manual sorting and quality checking process.

When we found the perfect box to for our shipment of candle jars collection and it has a handle for ergonomic carrying! 😊

Great thanks to our ♻️Participants and .now.ca Team, with your contributions and assistance during our H&B Care recycling collection month in August, we were able to divert 27.45 lbs of glass and mixed materials in this shipment from SoCal landfills and waterways. 💚🌎🌊
