Rotary Club of Brea

Rotary Club of Brea The Brea Rotary Club, established in 1958, is a non-profit community service organization of business and professional leaders.

All of our service contributions come from fund-raisers such as that proposed with the Brea Mall. Every dollar from these fundraisers, except for expenses incurred in the event, goes directly to the programs we support. All of our members are volunteers. At the local level, the proceeds from this fundraiser will help fund such programs as the Brea/Yorba Linda Chapter of the Boys & Girls Clubs; Ope

ration Headstart; Help for Brain Injured Children; The Brea Literacy and Students at Risk Programs; Emergency Financial Assistance for Seniors; Operation Santa Claus, providing food and clothing for families in need; and “Every 15 minutes”, a high school program directed at helping prevent driving under the influence. Beyond our borders, Brea Rotary has partnered with the City of Brea and our Sister-City Rotary Club in Lagos de Moreno to provide Lagos with fire engines, emergency rescue vehicles, ambulances, refuse trucks, kitchen equipment for a local orphanage, medicine for the local Red Cross, school computers, library books, playground equipment, and rehabilitation equipment for handicapped children.

This week our club said goodbye to a great member, Maurice Casaus, who is moving away. Not only has Maurice been a really fun member of our club, but he has contributed greatly to our efforts and helped us host many club events at Embassy suites in Brea! He will be greatly missed!

One of our club’s finest individuals, Glenn Balch, spoke at a recent meeting about his involvement in a wonderful program, called Water for South Sudan. He explained the great need and how one individual started it all in his efforts to help his father heal. It was a great testament to how a small group can make such a big difference!
Join us for lunch each Tuesday at Capriana La Floresta in Brea and hear great speakers that will inspire you too!

Recently, Brea Rotary hosted Rotarians from Kenya for our Friendship Exchange! We learned about how the club runs in their country, their works projects and how much interest there is in acts of service in Kenya. Many Rotary flags were exchanged and all had a great time getting to know each other!

There is lots going on at Brea Rotary! Our club has been repeatedly honored for their record of giving both in our community and around the world! Members Dave Penn and Craig Livingston received the Paul Harris award for their generous donations throughout the years.
Wayne Scott, former Colonel in the Air Force and now on the Board of Directors with Yorba Linda Water District, came and spoke to the club about his experiences on September 11th. On that tragic day, he was serving in his position as Colonel in Virginia, nearby the Capitol, where a plane hijacked by terrorists hit the Pentagon. He’s spoke about the events from the military’s perspective as things unfolded that day and also shared the unbelievable timely response our nation took to keep Americans safe both in the US and abroad.
Each week we have incredible speakers at our club! If you’d like to join us and be a part of this wonderful group, we meet each Tuesday at 12 PM at La Floresta/ Capriana.
We’d love to see you there!
