Approximately at 15:30 hours your Wild Peach Fire Department crew got toned in the 2200 Block of County Road 244 for a vehicle fire close to a house.
Upon arrival of first personnel it was noticed a fully involved vehicle fire with exposures nearby.
Engine 1603, and Tanker 1607 made location. The first priority was to cool the structure to prevent spread, then focus on the vehicle.
Crews got the fire under control quickly, protecting the structure. The Fire Marshall was also contacted.
All units returned back to the station and are back available.

Be efficient on your trucks. Know where tools are, show up to the work nights and trainings. That's where the mistakes need to be made not out in the heat of it.
We all started not knowing our tools, what works best ect. Put your pride aside and learn, pride will have plenty of room to be there once the jobs done and you've made a great stop or save. For now, learn the truck, how to read the smoke, read the whole fire ground. It speaks you've just got to listen.

Some nights, they are already exhausted before the call even comes in.

Running on cold coffee.
Missed sleep.
Heavy hearts.
Stress no one else can see.

And then the tones drop.

Someone is trapped.
Someone cannot breathe.
Someone’s worst day has just begun.

So they dig deeper.
Past the fatigue.
Past the frustration.
Past what feels humanly possible.

And somehow…
they still give people the last 10% of themselves.

The steady voice.
The calm hands.
The extra minute.
The final ounce of strength.

Because in emergencies, the part of them that feels empty is often the exact part someone else needs to survive.

With summer rapidly approaching, and water activities already under way please remember these safety tips.
Attached are photos to help you choose the appropriate swimwear depending on where your swimming.

- Open water hazards — Currents, sudden depth changes, vegetation, and low visibility.
- Pool hazards — Slippery decks, drains, diving injuries, and overcrowding.
- Cold shock awareness — Even in summer, lakes and rivers can have cold pockets that trigger gasping and panic.
- Boating + swimming — Keep swimmers away from propellers and boat traffic lanes.

🚨 Signs of Drowning (They’re Silent)
- Head low in water
- [Vertical body position] with no kicking
- [Gasping or hyperventilating]
- [Arms pressing down] as if trying to climb a ladder
- [Silent struggle] — drowning people cannot yell or wave

If you see these signs, act immediately.

🧯 Emergency Steps
- Reach or throw, don’t go — Use a pole, rope, or flotation device.
- Call 911 immediately
- Begin CPR if the person is not breathing.
