🚨 DEVELOPING: Death penalty sought in Brazoria County case involving shooting of four children

Brazoria County prosecutors say they will seek the death penalty against Oninda Romelus, the Porter mother accused of shooting her four children last year β€” killing two and critically injuring two others.

Court records show prosecutors plan to argue aggravating factors, including claims she could pose a continuing threat to society if convicted.

Investigators say Romelus called 911 after arriving at a gas station in Angleton, where deputies found all four children suffering from gunshot wounds inside a vehicle. A 13-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl died at the scene. An 8-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl survived after being rushed to a Houston hospital.

Romelus remains in custody in Brazoria County on a $14 million bond as the capital murder case continues to move toward trial. βš–οΈ
