Project Feed

Project Feed Project Feed the Thousands collects over 200,000 meals and over $100,000 in cash for thousands of people in SE Vermont & SW New Hampshire.

Project Feed the Thousands was started in 1994 by Larry Smith, formerly of WTSA radio, and Entergy Vermont Yankee (Ret.) and George Haynes, formerly of the Brattleboro Savings & Loan (Ret.). Their initial goal was to fill a single tractor trailer with food for people in Brattleboro area. Over the years, the need has grown. Project Feed has also grown in size and scope. Today, Project Feed collects

over 200,000 meals for thousands of people in and around six communities across southeastern Vermont and southwestern, NH. We also aim to raise more than $100,000.00 in cash -- which will help buy even more food for neighbors who would otherwise go hungry.

Thank you to those who purchased their tree from the Co-op. Here at Project Feed The Thousands, every dollar means so much to our local food pantries.
Brattleboro Food Co-op

Saturday is the perfect time to buy a tree from the Co-op! $15 per tree goes to Groundworks Collaborative, and we're making a push for folks to bring shelf-stable foods to donate to Project Feed the Thousands. The trees are from a 6th Generation farm called Bishop Farm in Vermont. They're beautiful and fragrant and ready to go to your home.

This Giving Tuesday, we’re honored to donate $10,000 to Project Feed. For over three decades, they’ve provided meals to locals in need. Year after year, they inspire neighbors to support one another.

As we mark 20 years of partnership with Project Feed the Thousands, we’re deeply grateful to our members for making this possible. Your trust in us allows us to support incredible causes like this and give back to the communities we call home.

Together, we’re making a difference—today and every day. 🤝
