The New Year's Baby has arrived! BMH is thrilled to announce the arrival of our first baby of the new year!
Born on January 1, 2026, at 11:48 PM, this little one is already making history as the first newborn of the year at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital.
Join us in congratulating mom Justice and dad Dakota on the birth of their beautiful daughter, Phalyn Valerie. Big thanks to the Brattleboro Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for providing Baby New Year with an overflowing basket of goodies! And baby goes home IN a stocking donated by the Auxiliary and made by Barb Gilmore, continuing a tradition of almost 50 years!

We are so proud to continue this tradition. Welcome, Kassidy and congratulations, Eve and Karl!

Welcome to the world, Kassidy!

Parents Eve and Karl Bohn welcomed their second daughter on December 10. Kassidy even got to go home in a stocking lovingly made by Barb Gilmore, using fabric donated by the Brattleboro Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. A sweet full-circle moment—Kassidy’s mom, Eve, was also born in December and went home in a stocking too!

Continuing a 29-year holiday tradition, the Brattleboro Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will hold its annual Celebration of Lights fundraiser now throughout the month of December.

Employees and patients of Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH), as well as members of the public, are invited to participate. Donations are $10 per light, and can be made in memory of, or in honor of, any individual (or individuals) of the donor’s choosing. Donors will also have the option to publicly dedicate the lights they purchase by asking to have their honoree(s) included on a list of names that will be displayed in the lobby of BMH's main hospital entrance. If requested, a postcard will also be mailed to the honoree(s) or their families. Lights will appear on a holiday tree that will be on display in the wooden gazebo located in front of the hospital’s Ronald Read Pavilion.

Funds raised through the Celebration of Lights will be used to benefit various projects at BMH. The Auxiliary encourages donations to be submitted before Monday, Dec. 1. However, lights will continue to be added to the tree as donations are received throughout the month of December.

Donation forms can be obtained by emailing JoAnne Rogers at [email protected].

The Brattleboro Memorial Hospital Auxiliary would like to thank the Brattleboro Sunrise Rotary, the American Legion, and the RECORD-SETTING number of trivia-loving hospital employees and community members who attended last night's Trivia Night. Special thanks go to the winning trivia team and the winner of the 50/50 raffle for donating back their winnings. A total of $1214 was raised for the Auxiliary to use to improve the BMH experience for patients and for scholarships to local students who are going into the field of healthcare.
