June 14th each year is Flag Day. It is performed at the Flag Pole on the front lawn of our Lodge. The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks played a foundational role in the creation of Flag Day. While the Elks were early promoters of the patriotic holiday, they did not create the day itself. Flag Day commemorates the adoption of the American flag by the Continental Congress on June 14, 1777.
