Sometimes, kindness shows up quietly—and in this case, it is woven into 200 beautifully knitted winter hats.

A generous community member recently dropped them off for the people we serve, each one colorful, handmade, and ready to provide a little extra warmth through a Vermont winter.

These thoughtful gifts are a reminder of the many ways our community shows up for one another, often without recognition or fanfare.

To the person behind this beautiful act of kindness: thank you for sharing your time, talent, and care with our community.

Join us tonight for the 23rd Annual Empty Bowls Dinner!

Tonight, Saturday, October 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Landmark College in Putney, the Empty Bowls Dinner will benefit Foodworks, Groundworks Collaborative’s free-choice grocery program serving individuals and families experiencing food insecurity throughout the region.

Guests purchase a ticket and choose a one-of-a-kind handmade bowl, crafted and donated by local potters, to take home. The evening features locally made soups, served with bread, cheese, and an apple.

The empty bowl you carry home is a reminder that food is a basic need, and that ensuring access to it is something a community can do together.

Tickets are available at the door. We accept cash or check only. Adult tickets are $35, youth tickets (ages 7-15) are $15, and children 6 and under are free. We hope you’ll join us!

Fresh-picked apples became homemade pies, thanks to a Permanent Supportive Housing resident who baked them from scratch and shared them with neighbors! Warm, delicious, and a sweet reminder of what generosity can create.

Community is built in the everyday moments we share.

Last week our permanent supportive housing site, residents and staff spent a beautiful day picking apples at Green Mountain Orchards. There was sunshine, laughter, and plenty of fresh fruit to go around!

Moments like these remind us that home is more than a roof overhead. It's connection, joy, and belonging.

We're so grateful for days that bring our community together.

Get your Empty Bowls tickets now! Advance adult tickets are $30 through Sunday, Oct. 4th. Youth Tickets are $15. ages 7-15 and 6 and under are free.Buying early saves you money and gives us an attendance count.
