On December 27th a fire on the 6th floor of the Samuel Elliot Apartments resulted in 18 households being displaced due to water damage. This week the last residents returned home. We are incredibly grateful to the BHP Maintenance staff who worked tirelessly to complete and oversee the repairs and the resident services staff who went above and beyond to support residents while they were displaced. And we thank the residents for their patience, compassion to each other and sometimes humor during this difficult time.

Brattleboro Housing Partnerships has a non-profit set up specifically to fund resident programs called Brattleboro Housing Opportunities, Inc. If you would like to donate to a fund that will go directly to residents to purchase new items lost to damage or items needed as they stay in hotels, please consider donating.

Spooky season was a smashing success at Moore Court! One of our residents worked with the SASH for All team to throw a Halloween party over the weekend. The resident used funds from our Crosby-Gannett grant to pay for party supplies including fresh-baked cookies, haunted punch bowls, and decorations galore. The group wrapped up the afternoon with pizza from Vermont Inn Pizza! We are thrilled that our residents were able to organize the event and look forward to support more community gatherings in the future. 👻 🎃

The State of Vermont has approved SNAP (3SquaresVT) benefits using state dollars for the first half of November, or 50% of your total November benefit.
However, there is going to be a delay in getting these benefits onto EBT cards and into bank accounts, because the state has to program their computers to replace the federal dollars with state dollars.
The State of Vermont expects benefits to land on EBT cards or bank accounts on or before November 7th. We encourage you to share this post to get accurate information out across Vermont.
