Wow what a great and exciting day Tuesday was! Thank you Rep. Becca Balint for stopping by and giving us a "Big Check" of $1.75M in Congressionally Directed Funding to go towards the redevelopment of the former Melrose Terrace. Now out of the floodway after an extensive flood mitigation project, West Brattleboro Terrace will be redeveloped to be 30 subsidized apartments for older adults.

Congratulations to to fellow One Brattleboro member Groundworks Collaborative on the opening of Hope's House!!! Thank you for all your hard work and dedication in supporting so many in our community.

Hope’s House Is Officially Open

Today, Groundworks Collaborative opened the doors to Hope’s House, our new purpose-built, service-rich shelter at 81 Royal Road in Brattleboro.

Named in honor of Hope Chapman, Hope’s House carries forward her vision for this property and a legacy of supporting people experiencing homelessness.

More than two and a half years of planning, partnership, and community investment brought us to this important moment. We are deeply grateful to the staff, donors, funders, partners, neighbors, Board members, public officials, and community members who made it possible.

Residents will begin moving in soon, marking a new chapter for Groundworks and the people we serve.

Here are two of our younger residents enjoying the recent Gallery Walk event. These two kids, and a few others, were chaperoned by another resident. They used community development funds to purchase snacks and crafts from vendors. BHP is thrilled to support residents increasing connection with the greater community and supporting our local economy. Big thanks to the whole Downtown Brattleboro Alliance team for putting on another fantastic event.

Brattleboro Housing Partnerships has modified the Requests For Proposals (RFP) for 2026- 2029 snow plowing and removal and sand/salt application for its residential housing communities. The updated RFP is available at BHP's website, brattleborohousing.org, and at the Main BHP office, now located at 65 Experiment Way on the World Learning campus. The updated RFP extends submission dates and updates requirements for the mandatory site visit.

Request for Proposals – Snow Plowing, Snow Removal, Sanding & Salting Services

Brattleboro Housing Partnerships (BHP) is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors to provide snow plowing, snow removal, sanding, and salting services for BHP properties in Brattleboro, Vermont.

Two separate three-year contracts are being solicited:

RFP – Five BHP Properties
Hayes Court, Melrose Terrace, Samuel Elliott Apartments, Moore Court, and Ledgewood Heights.

This line is intended for Brattleboro and the surrounding towns only. We are excited for this test to see how it all unfolds!

Consultation includes housing applications, housing search, information and referrals, financial assistance for security deposits and first month’s rent*, back rent payments to prevent eviction*, tenant-landlord mediation, housing voucher recertifications.
