CORRECTION: The person was not taken into custody, but instead was given a Federal summons and released.

At 1400 hrs today, Engine 30 and Battalion 3 responded for a Technical Rescue with a report of a person rappelling off Table Rock Dam. While the initial crews were still enroute to the incident, Engine 3, Truck 2 and Boat 1 were added do the assignment based on the Dispatch information.

Initial reports indicated that the person could be accessed on the south side of the dam from Lake Taneycomo. Once crews arrived on scene, it was determined that the person was stuck on their rope on the Taneycomo side of the dam, and their rope was not long enough to fully descend to ground level.

All Companies were repositioned to the top of the dam, and the roadway was closed. Chief 1 and Chief 2 also responded to the incident.

Fire personnel lowered a longer rope and backup safety line down to the person. Once the person was safely attached to both ropes, the person was then lowered safely to ground level.

The person was taken into custody by Taney County Sheriff’s Deputies pending an investigation.

No injuries were reported. Branson Police Officers and Taney County Sheriff Deputies were on scene. Crews operated on this incident for just over 2 hours with Highway 165 over the dam closed to through traffic for a portion of the incident duration.

At 0759 hrs this morning, Truck 2 and Battalion 3 responded to a mutual aid with Western Taney County Fire Protection District for a reported MVC rollover. Dispatch information indicated a dump truck was involved.

On arrival, Fire crews found a dump truck on its side blocking both lanes of travel. Fire crews worked together to extricate the injured driver. Taney County Ambulance District provided patient care and transported the patient to the hospital.

Missouri State Highway Patrol investigated the accident. A large wrecker had to be called in to help upright the dump truck. Missouri Department of Transportation was also on scene assisting with traffic control and cleanup.
The roadway was closed for the duration of the incident and traffic redirected away from the area.

Fire crews operated on scene for just under 2.5 hrs.

At 1340 hours today, Engine 1, Truck 20 and Battalion 3 responded for a reported technical rescue EMS incident.

On arrival, Companies found one patient who had fallen from an upper floor down an open elevator shaft. The patient had sustained serious injuries and was entangled in mechanical equipment.

Fire personnel quickly secured the elevator, gained access to the patient and administered immediate life-saving interventions and first aid.

Taney County Ambulance paramedics arrived and, through a combined effort of Fire personnel, TCAD paramedics and a BPD Officer, the patient was stabilized and extricated from the elevator pit. The patient was transported to the hospital in serious condition.

Companies operated on scene for one hour.

At 1239 hrs today, Engine 3, Truck 2, Tender 3 and Battalion 3 responded to a mutual aid request from Southern Stone County Fire Protection District for a residential structure fire.

Branson Fire crews assisted with rescuing multiple dogs from the residence, and chasing multiple areas of fire in void spaces throughout the structure. Water supply issues, high ambient air temperatures and hoarding conditions further complicated the incident.
The incident eventually went to a 4th Alarm response bringing units from Southern Stone County Fire Protection District, Branson Fire Rescue, Western Taney County Fire Department, Central Crossing Fire Department, and Highlandville Fire Department.

Branson Companies operated on scene for nearly 5 hours before being released by Command.

We are grateful for our neighboring Fire Departments and glad we are able to assist when called upon!

Today, August 15th at 1137, Engine 1 and Truck 2 and Battalion 1 in conjunction with local area law enforcement and Taney County Ambulance District responded to a multi vehicle accident near the Highway 65 northbound on-ramp and Bee Creek Road. Crews arrived on scene and found multiple vehicles with heavy damage from a high speed vehicle accident. Fire crews and EMS worked to triage and extricate multiple patients from the damaged vehicles. The intersection was shut down for an extended period of time while crews helped coordinate patient care, vehicle removal, and roadway cleanup. Multiple individuals were transported by ambulance to trauma centers. Crews operated on scene for approximately 1 hour.

At 1314 hours on August 7, 2026, Truck 2 and Engine 1 responded to a reported vehicle over an embankment.

On arrival, Companies found an SUV perched precariously on a slope and on the edge of an 8 foot tall retaining wall. The driver was still in the vehicle, but unable to get out.

Fire crews used ground ladders to more easily move between the levels, and placed stabilizing struts under the vehicle before entering the vehicle to assist the driver out.

The driver was treated by Branson Fire crews and Taney County Ambulance paramedics, then transported to the hospital. Branson Police investigated the accident.

No other injuries were reported. Companies operated on scene for nearly an hour.
