The September 2026 District 6080 Rotary Newsletter is now available, highlighting Basic Education and Literacy Month and the many ways Rotarians create opportunities through education, service, leadership, and connection. As District Governor Brad Martens reminds us, creating lasting impact does not always require a large project. Sometimes it begins simply by opening a book and reading to a child.

Inside this issue, you will find information about the upcoming District 6080 Conference, the Ignite app available to clubs across the district, the 2027 Rotary International Convention in Barcelona, and the PolioPlus Society Kennel Klub. You will also see examples of Service Above Self in action through literacy programs, school readiness efforts, community partnerships, and projects throughout District 6080.

This month also celebrates the Rotary Clubs of Springfield receiving the 2026 Toast to Tourism Impact Award for their work on Birthplace Plaza, recognizing a collaborative effort that preserves Springfield's Route 66 history while creating a destination that will welcome visitors, strengthen the community, and support the local economy for generations to come.

Read the September newsletter and discover how one opportunity, one invitation, and one act of service at a time can Create Lasting Impact.

A link to the full September newsletter will be available in the first comment.

Over 10 years ago, the Branson Rotary Club was proud to provide a grant to the Hollister High School Band to help purchase this electric UTV.

Fast forward more than a decade, and it’s still going strong! The UTV continues to be an important part of the band’s operations, helping transport equipment and support students at performances and events.

This is a great example of the lasting impact of Rotary’s commitment to Service Above Self. We love seeing investments in our local students continue to make a difference year after year!

💙💛 Go Tigers!
🎶 Keep making beautiful music, Hollister High School Band!

Service Above Self in action!

Members of the Rotary Club of Branson kicked off the morning with our monthly cleanup at Stockstill Park, helping keep one of our community’s favorite parks clean and welcoming for everyone to enjoy.

A big thank you to our dedicated volunteers who gave their time to make a difference. It’s amazing what can be accomplished when neighbors come together in service to our community.

If you’re looking for a way to give back, build friendships, and make a positive impact, we’d love to have you join us at an upcoming Rotary meeting or service project!

What a great day at the Branson-Hollister Rotary Club as we celebrated an incredible year of service and leadership!

We said thank you to outgoing Club President Matthew Brock as he reflected on an outstanding year of accomplishments. Together, our club raised nearly $30,000, completed 10 community service projects, updated our club bylaws, and developed a strategic plan to help guide our future.

Matthew also recognized Sherry DeVore, George Burrell, LaDella Thomas, and Jim Dice for going above and beyond in service to our club and community. Their dedication truly embodies Rotary’s motto of Service Above Self.

Congratulations as well to Lynn Windell, who was honored with the Big Heart Award for his exceptional service to our community. Lynn was nominated by Marty Whited, and this recognition is a testament to the positive impact he continues to make.

Thank you, Matthew, for your outstanding leadership and commitment to making a difference. Here’s to another great year of serving our community!

The Branson-Hollister Rotary Club was honored to welcome Kennedy Brooks as our program speaker this week. Kennedy shared her experiences and insights about the Rotary Youth Exchange Program, highlighting the lifelong friendships, cultural understanding, and personal growth that come from this incredible opportunity.

We were also proud to recognize several outstanding Rotarians with Paul Harris Fellowships. This prestigious recognition honors individuals whose contributions support The Rotary Foundation and its mission of promoting peace, fighting disease, supporting education, providing clean water, and improving lives around the world.

Congratulations to our Paul Harris Fellowship recipients, and thank you to Kennedy for an inspiring presentation. Rotary continues to make a difference both locally and globally through service, leadership, and fellowship.

Rotarians doing Rotarian things! We built 20 beds for the Rest in Heavenly Peace organization. They provide beds to kiddos who otherwise wouldn't have one. Our next project will be to help deliver them!

One of the first questions we get when talking to somebody about rotary is, " what is rotary anyway?"
Why is it named Rotary?
