Throughout her reign, Cassandra Guzman represented Ms. Veteran America with grace, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to her sisters-in-arms. She showed up—not simply as a titleholder, but as an advocate, mentor, supporter, and sister.

Cassandra used her voice to help others feel seen. She offered encouragement when it was needed most, celebrated the victories of her fellow women veterans, and stood beside them through difficult moments. Her presence reminded us that leadership is not measured by the attention we receive, but by the lives we touch.

Cassandra, thank you for every appearance, every conversation, every act of kindness, and every moment you dedicated to this mission. Thank you for carrying the crown with dignity and representing the woman beyond the uniform so beautifully.

Every woman veteran has a story worth hearing. ❤️

Honoring women veterans and sharing their stories has always been deeply personal to me. Advocating for the mission of Final Salute Inc. supporting homeless women Veterans and their children has been such a meaningful part of my life, and I truly would not be where I am today without the veteran community that has surrounded and supported me.

This weekend, I’m so excited to continue honoring these incredible women and the stories that deserve to be heard—stories of service, sacrifice, leadership, resilience, and so much more.

This is a part of my story, too. My story, my legacy, my military family, 3 generations. And I’m honored to keep sharing theirs. 🇺🇸👑

My heart is so full of gratitude for my sponsors who have supported me throughout this journey, and for those supporting me for this special upcoming evening. Thank you so much for believing in me, this mission, and the women veterans we serve. Your support means more than you know.

As I close this chapter, I’m especially grateful that my commitment to supporting homeless women veterans and their children through Final Salute, Inc. will continue. This mission will always be close to my heart.

This is going to be an unforgettable night. I’m so thankful to have my friends and family there to support me, honor this journey, and cheer on the incredible women veterans competing this year.

Finale Night ✨

You CAN do this! Be confident, trust yourself, and remember—you have so many people believing in you and cheering you on.

For the final question, I was honored to be asked mine by Army Ret. First Sgt Daila (Dee) Espeut-Jones, a true pillar in our community and such a huge supporter of me. I’m incredibly grateful for everything she has done for me and for the heart she continues to give to this mission.

My biggest advice: practice, practice, practice! Speaking in front of a live audience is completely different from answering questions in front of the judges. The lights, energy, and adrenaline can change everything. Practice speaking clearly, slowing down, making eye contact, and taking a breath before you answer. Trust yourself and own your moment.

I was also honored to receive two awards—the Donation Whisperer and the Gladys Hughes Showstopper Award. Both were such surreal moments, and the Showstopper Award was especially meaningful knowing it carries the legacy of the incredible Gladys Hughes, United States Coast Guard SPAR and Ms Veteran America 2012 2nd Runner-up.

For talent, my goal was simply to put on a SHOW with my best friends and have fun!

And for the GI Joanne competition… BRING IT! 😂💪🏼 I did a push-up every day from the moment I signed up until competition day. Heather Bormann, Ms Veteran America 2024 1st Runner-up took the win after doing OVER 60 push-ups!

You belong on that stage. Believe in yourself, give it everything you’ve got, and make memories you’ll carry with you forever. ♥️

As competition night gets closer, I’ve been thinking back to my own finals weekend and all the little things that made the experience so memorable.

Rehearsals are going to be so much fun as you all start putting everything together, and I’m really looking forward to seeing it all come to life!

One little piece of advice I’d keep in mind for the evening: your formalwear shoes! I remember having to purchase non-slip sole pads for the bottoms of my evening wear shoes. I’m not sure how the stage will feel this year, but it’s something worth considering so you feel comfortable and confident walking across the stage. Your boots and tennis shoes should be perfectly fine!

I’m so excited to celebrate you all and watch this incredible journey come together. You’ve worked so hard for this moment—enjoy every second of it! ♥️🇺🇸

This journey is not easy. It asks you to step far outside of your comfort zone, pour your heart into something bigger than yourself, and put in so much hard work along the way.

But you’re here because you’re chasing your dreams, using your voice, and hoping to make a difference for other women Veterans.

And Ladies Night is all about celebrating YOU. ✨

It’s a night to celebrate you and your cohort, the accomplishments you’ve made throughout this competition season, and the courage it took to get here. You’ll have the opportunity to cheer each other on, celebrate some very deserving women with special awards, support the mission of Final Salute Inc., and, of course, dance the night away!

But more than anything, I hope you take a moment to look around the room and realize what you’ve become a part of. This isn’t just a competition. It’s women Veterans lifting up women Veterans, creating friendships, opening doors, and working together to make sure no woman Veteran or child is left behind.

You’ve worked so hard to get here. So on this night, let yourself celebrate. Be proud of yourself. Celebrate your sisters. And soak in every single moment. ♥️

Final interviews and talent are up first! 👑✨

Regardless of how your journey has gone so far, I still believe there is time to impress the judges and leave your mark!

For interviews, PRACTICE THE MISSION! I always practice thanking the judges for the question and then repeating it before answering. It gives you a moment to collect your thoughts, organize your answer, take a breath, and focus on eye contact and body language.

And in one of these pictures, you can tell we are either SUPER tuned in to whoever is speaking (probably Jas or Denyse!)…or we’re all zoned in thinking about those interviews coming up. 😂

For talent, my biggest advice is to support and cheer each other on! My cohort had the opportunity to be part of each other’s talents, and that support made it so special. This is your time to be confident, have fun, and put on a show! My very best friends were in my talent where we dressed up as Barbies and I love them so much! 🥰

Lastly, a huge thank you to American Legion Post 275 for keeping us fed and taking such great care of us all weekend. I’m so grateful for everything they do for Ms Veteran America! 🇺🇸❤️
