Today we had Mark Peper from Taney County Birthday Bags. Taney County Birthday finds children from ages 2-12 who needs assistance. After being vetted they provide birthday gifts for the child, including birthday candles, plates, and other items to be able to provide a birthday party. They are even able to provide a cake from Country Mart or Price Chopper.
They provide a much needed service and is greatly appreciated.

Stoney Hays from the Boys and Girls Club of the Ozarks gave us a great update on the club this morning. This is a great organization that serves a huge need in our community, from providing meals, physical activities and working on homework or other learning activities for the kids after school while the parents are working.

We had a great morning meeting at Gettin’ Basted. Johnathan Tudor from TCAD gave us a great overview of our highly accredited TCAD. They had over 15000 calls last year. After hearing Johnathan speak this morning I feel that our ambulance district is well prepared and well
modernized.

Today we had the pleasure of Mileah Albert speaking to us about her RYLA experience. She is considering the possibility of rejoining RYLA as an intern. RYLA is the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy.

We were able to welcome the Scouts of Troop 2001 to our meeting this morning. They are well on their way to becoming an Eagle Scouts. This is a great achievement!

Next week we will have the Rotary International President Elect. Please make sure you attend and wear your Paul Harris Medal.

Terry King was awarded the Rotarian of the Year award this morning, a well-deserved recognition of his long-standing service. A member for over 30 years, Terry has been instrumental in our club's activities, demonstrating excellent attendance and dedication. We thank you, Terry.

Gerrie Moore from Jeans For Teens visited us this morning to discuss their program, which provides new jeans from Maurice's and Target to school-age students in need. Notably, some of these students have never owned new jeans or pants before, making this program truly invaluable. Our appreciation goes to Jeans For Teens for their remarkable initiative. Additionally, please note that the Rotary's changing of the guard ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 25, at Faith Lutheran Church, resulting in no meeting on the morning of June 25.

This morning's meeting was a resounding success, commencing with the presentation of the Trivia Trophy, which our Rotary club proudly accepted for securing first place in the Rotary Trivia Contest. The meeting continued with an engaging presentation by Boy Scout Troop 2001, whom our club has the privilege of sponsoring. It was heartening to witness the troop's growth and development of essential life skills. Additionally, Bernadette Losh from Camp Barnabas delivered an informative and inspiring presentation about Camp Barnabas and Barnabas Prep, highlighting the camp's mission to provide a meaningful summer experience for children with diverse disabilities and offering respite to their families. The meeting was well-attended and packed with valuable content. Don't forget the Springfield Cardinals Rotary game on next Thursday, 6/11.

The Rotary meeting this morning at Getting Basted was outstanding. We had the opportunity to hear Michele Dean from Christian Action Ministries discuss their innovative approach to food banks, allowing clients to select their own groceries. Additionally, they offer spiritual support through prayer. Notably, Sandy Miller, a Daybreaker Rotarian, has played a crucial role in developing an informative data dashboard that provides valuable insights for non-profits.

Our club will be going to the Springfield Cardinals on Thursday June 11th. This is a date change from Wednesday the 10th. Get with Tony if you have not signed up.
