On this Memorial Day 2026, American Legion Post 220 pauses to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation.
Today, we remember the soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen who gave their lives so that we could live in freedom. Their courage, honor, and selflessness will never be forgotten.
From the fields of Normandy to the mountains of Afghanistan, and in every conflict in between — we owe them a debt we can never fully repay.
Let us honor their memory not just with words, but with lives lived in gratitude, communities built in unity, and a nation that remains worthy of their sacrifice.
To all Gold Star families in our area: know that you are in our thoughts and prayers today and always. We stand with you.

Today, on Military Spouse Appreciation Day, American Legion Post 220 joins the nation in recognizing the "silent ranks" who stand behind our service members.

Being a military spouse means being the bedrock of the family. It means navigating long deployments, solo parenting, constant moves, and the unique brand of strength that only a military family understands. You are the heart of our community here in the Ozarks, and your resilience is the backbone of our national defense.

To all the spouses in our Branson and Hollister community: we see your sacrifices, we admire your strength, and we thank you for your unwavering support.
