The flyout to Asheville, North Carolina was a great success!

A large frontal system prompted several of our members to keep their airplanes on the ground, but like troopers, they gritted their teeth, grabbed the steering wheel and drove! For the rest of us who flew, it looked like that same frontal system might drop some rain on us, but it stalled out and left us with beautiful, sunny weather in Asheville.

Our safety seminar linking the good guys of the silver screen with the good attitudes of safe pilots was a hit and encouraged us all to always take the high road in our flight decision making.

The Biltmore Estate tour was impressive, providing a glimpse into a lavish lifestyle of a bygone era, along with beautifully landscaped grounds and walking trails. The more adventurous among us went zip-lining in the Blue Ridge Mountains, while others strolled the pathways of the North Carolina Arboretum. Many drove a portion of the famous Blue Ridge Parkway, enjoying the landscape of rolling hills, trees and mountains.

As is always the case with USPA flyouts, there was ample opportunity to appreciate good food, re-acquaint with old friends and make new ones.
