Lakes Area Child Advocacy Center "It shouldn't hurt to be a child."

This is a busy, unsettling world out there. This is the very time to seek God, and His Word. I am learning to ask God's help with every new day I have. The Lakes Area Child Advocacy Center received a generous donation from the Table Rock Rotary Club today! We are so grateful for that donation, and I will pray that God will use us at the LACAC to use the money in the best way, to help others. There is so much random wonderful kindness in this busy, unsettling world. Thank you to the kind hearts out there, who stay steady and true as you help navigate others' storms.

In these uncertain times, we are still receiving community donations. We are so appreciative of those who are continuing to pray and provide for our Lakes Area Child Adocacy Center.

The Lakes Area Child Advocacy Center, along with several other non profit agencies in our community, received a donation today from Neighbors and Friends of Table Rock Lake. They are an active, awesome group who does creative activities throughout the year, and each spring, presents funds that bring help and hope to area non profit agencies. I am so grateful for them. It’s odd, after 15 years of speaking in front of groups about the LACAC, I still feel humbled and my heart racing a little, and teary as I speak. When I think about the LACAC, I see children and families come into my heart, and those who were, and are, such are a part of it. I am grateful, and looking forward to strength and power ahead. Good day. Spring and new life is right around the corner.

Our Lakes Area Child Advocacy Center received a $1,000 donation from the Table Rock Lake Rotary Club today! There were several other agencies who also received a donation! At their meetings, we stand and pledge the flag, we say their creed, which is all about making sure our actions and choices are to be a light to others. And they have someone say a prayer over the meeting. I feel humbled, and empowered, and just purely happy and grateful. There is goodness and kindness and strength, all around us. The Lakes Area Child Advocacy Center is blessed! Thank you, Rotary Club!

The Lakes Area CAC had a great golf tournament this past Saturday! A BIG thank you to Scott Fleetwood, Kay Russell, and for all the other donors, sponsors, and volunteers who made that go really smoothly. I hope it was a good day for everyone who played and who donated. This is a fundraiser, and I get that. But I see it through slightly different eyes. As I watched the event happen, with the weather holding off, and being perfect, and things went well, I had children in my mind and heart who have come through the LACAC. As the golfers golfed, and the board members/volunteers did their jobs during this event, I was seeing how, in the greater picture, how the LACAC can continue to help children’s lives be better. From all these willing hearts who took time, in sometimes behind the scenes ways, to focus on “our kids”. Thank you!

Dotti Greenwald, a board member and genuine supporter of the Lakes Area Child Advocacy Center, did a fundraiser at Reeds Spring Pizza recently. It was so much fun, the Stone County Comission was there and presented a check to the LACAC. Also present was a singing group who were awesome! Dr. Deb Williams sang a wonderful duet with her daughter. Thank you to all, who bring light and strength, wherever you are placed.

Local Scout Troop 163 did a project last weekend at the Lakes Area Child Advocacy Center. They gave our interview room fresh paint and refreshed and renewed the “heart” of the LACAC. This group of young men are fun and like a breath of fresh air to be around. Thank you Troop 163 for working and making the LACAC brighter, many children in the days ahead will enjoy what brought with your kind hearts!

The 2nd Annual “Heart for Children” Dinner was a wonderful success! This past Friday evening we had a room full, and Monte Selby, songwriter and singer, was the entertainment. He works with troubled children and helps them write their song. Thank you to all who contributed to this event for the Lakes Area Child Advocacy Center..and to those who are a part of our agency in the things you do, in front, or behind the scenes, for the children in our community! Thank you! Everyone has a story.

Winter may seem cold, but not this one for some reason, it feels like spring and new life! The Lakes Area Child Advocacy Center has been chosen by Caring Americans Thrift Store in Branson West, as the agency of the month for February! Proceeds will benefit the LACAC. And for March, Cox Health Branson has chosen the LACAC as their agency of the month! So appreciative! The eyes of the children and families we meet in time of crisis, and the hugs we get, and then the times when they come back on their own, to just tell us thank you. Looking forward to good things and healing ahead

We got the carpets cleaned at the Lakes Area Child Advocacy Center today! Such a small thing, but I’m just happy and looking forward to this new year and want to share! Lots going on, we received 2017 funding from the Stone County Commission, thank you! Our Annual Golf Tournament is coming up on Friday, June 9th at Ledgestone, visit our website at lacac.com and go to Events and download the registration forms and how to register to be a sponsor or play on a team! On a personal note, we appreciate our board members who are so dedicated, we appreciate the community people who give so generously from their hearts, we appreciate our agency team members who work all hours, working child abuse cases, who give generously from their hearts. Whether you are near, or far, to you who truly care about the vulnerable ones and give your time to those, thank you! Looking forward to spring ☺
