Volunteer Opportunity at Branford Early Learning Center this Sunday, 2:00pm - 3:00pm. Come Join us to help expand the meadow, which is part of the Pollinator Pathway. We'll be placing plastic sheeting to take care of invasive mugwort. Then we'll also do some w**ding of mugwort in the standing meadow. Please bring anything you need to be comfortable including: gloves, water, sun protection. We'll have tools, but please bring if you have (hand trowel, etc). Come learn about native plants while taking care of our town's natural resources!

BONUS: come a bit early at 1:45pm for a dedication to celebrate the Branford Trail creator's birthday. Chet Blomquist would have been turning 100 on Sunday, June 14th.

National Horseshoe Crab Day is June 20th. Join Danielle from the Kellogg Environmental Center and Jo-Marie Kasinak, Project Limulus Beach Coordinator, as they help participants understand the wonders of Horseshoe Crabs at Silver Sands State Park. The walk and talk, takes place on the beach, so please dress appropriately and have shoes for the sand, hats, and a bottle of water too. Families are welcome. You may register or just walk up to take part.

Monarchs are in the area and laying eggs. June 6th, the Kellogg Environmental Center is hosting a program to explain how you can take part in research and conservation of this flagship butterfly.
Registration is requested and is not well suited for very young children. Part of the program is inside, then out to the meadow in search of eggs, larvae, and adults. Call 203-734-2513 for details and if you have questions.
