Lisa’s Pink Petals of Hope was established in loving memory of Lisa Sands-Minnifield, who was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer in early May 2011, and was on a mission to improve the lack of information and limited resources available during her journey. She vowed to share with others about getting a second opinion, various treatments available, local assistance, and insurance coverage
of Pre/Post Mastectomy garments (i.e. With her deep passion to impact the lives of other breast cancer survivors, she wanted to create a place where she could provide services and education. A deeper passion was formed and a search begin for a building while Lisa underwent Chemo, little did I know Lisa had a defined vision of where she wanted the place to be which surfaced after spending hour’s with realtors and property owners throughout the Brandon area. In the hunt for this special place, I came across a vacant building near the hospital and several oncology offices, and phoned Lisa up, she begins to say “yes, yes, that’s the area I’d envisioned” this is when the vision unfold. A meeting was shortly scheduled with the property owner to see the interior. I can recall that day just as if it was yesterday; Lisa walked in with a beam of JOY on her face and at that point, we both knew it was the place God had shown her in the vision. We both had tears in our eyes and begin to walk around and Thank God for allowing this wonderful vision to be fulfilled. Six months later on November 19, 2011, A New You, Pink Boutique opened its doors. Lisa pledged not to have just an ordinary place, but a platform where she could share the promise of Jesus Christ who was the Author and the finisher of her faith. She labored daily through chemo and radiation to assist me with selecting paint colors, furniture, chandelier lighting fixtures, motivational wall art and more to create a place where ALL women would be able to enjoy the ambiance. Upon opening, Lisa often met with the patients to encourage them through their journey as she assisted them with their mastectomy products selection. She would spend countless hours researching information on the latest treatments, products and natural foods that could improve the overall health. Prayer was often held to pray for those that were going through difficult times, however Lisa would never focus on her own challenges as she would often say “The Battle is not mine, It’s the Lords”. Lisa’s creation continued with the Angel Closet to assist those with limited to no insurance, Angels of Hope which provide food and gifts during the holiday season and the Annual Bring Your Own Bra (BYOB) which raise money for the Angel Closet. Lisa, whom was transformed from her mortal body to her immortal body on April 8, 2013, leaves a legacy of memories with the patients, friends, and family
