We were honored to recognize 2 special ladies at The Learning Center this morning‼️ Lanier Craft (on left) was recognized as the Teacher of the Month, and Betty Evans (on right) was recognized as the Support Staff Member of the Month. We appreciate the dedication and hard work of these ladies. 🥳👏🎊

Judge Troy Odom was our speaker today. He is a chancery judge in Rankin County. He talked about the importance of showing grace and humility in difficult family situations. So many times, he sees parents that do not act with grace and humility during divorces, and he sees how that affects the kids caught in the middle. We can all show more grace and humility to our fellow man!

Fred Davis was our speaker today. Fred is an entrepreneur at heart. He had a successful career in real estate, and he is now the owner of a local indoor billboard advertising franchise called OnTargetTV. Fred mainly shared his wisdom about what he's learned in business throughout his career. He is also a licensed behavioral therapist, and he specializes in adolescents. He is very passionate about his work with kids. It was a treat to have him with us today.

Sarah Butler was our speaker today. She is running for Circuit Court Judge for Rankin and Madison Counties (20th District). She is currently an attorney and mediator with the 20th District, and she's worked in the court for 14 years. She's a lifelong resident of Rankin County, and she's running to keep Rankin and Madison Counties great places to live, work and raise a family.

Today, our Kiwanis Club heard from Teresa Renkenberger, founder of Shower Power, and Nic Spradley, its Executive Director. Their stories showed how meaningful change can begin with a single act of kindness.

Teresa shared how her vision started as a mobile shower service for those experiencing homelessness and grew into an organization offering vital support to help people rebuild their lives.

Nic highlighted that beyond shelter, Shower Power meets essential needs by providing free haircuts, hygiene products, clothing, meals, and prayer.

If you’d like to get involved, volunteers are welcome every Friday at 9:00 AM at 836 South Commerce Street in Jackson. Groups can also sign up through the organization’s page. Every helping hand matters.

The Rankin County Kiwanis Club was honored to welcome Rob Oates as our guest speaker. He shared his inspiring journey from a successful career in banking to answering God’s calling to coach cross country. His story of faith, leadership, and investing in the lives of young people was both encouraging and impactful.

Sara Gunter with The Mustard Seed was our speaker today. She talked about all the programs that the Seedsters are involved with. They always have something going on. Sara said the Seedsters love it there, and the workers may love it even more. They love having people in the community volunteer at The Mustard Seed, and the Seedsters enjoy meeting new people. Don't hesitate to contact them about volunteer opportunities. It's a great organization that enriches and blesses the lives of some special people. We were honored to donate $250 to them today.
