Today the Fill the HUMVEE food drive was a great success. Not only did we get the opportunity to support the Rankin County community, we also had the pleasure of getting of a photo op with the city of Flowood mayor the Honorable Kathy Smith. A big Thank You to the Mississippi National Guard for providing us with the HUMVEE and (2) outstanding Soldiers from the 113th MP Co in Brandon, MS to help us out. Happy Holidays to all and thank you for donating.

Comrades and the Rankin County community, the Wilson Bain Martin VFW Post 12172 will be hosting a Fill the HUMVEE food drive at 123 Jackson Place in Brandon MS to support the Rankin County community during the holiday season. Please come out and support this Commander Billy Green initiative.

It is with a heavy heart that we share that our Commander, comrade, and friend of VFW Post 12172, Commander Billy Green has passed away. We are truly grateful for the time we shared with him and the time he sacrificed in his service to our nation. Please keep the Green family in your prayers.

In recognition of our POW/MIA heroes, Post 12172 held its 4th annual POW/MIA event at Liberty Baptist church in Flowood, MS on 20 September 2025. A big thank you to all who participated in and attended this great event. A special thanks to comrade CSM (R) Copeland for being our guest speaker for this event. Also want to congratulate our Quilt of Valor recipients. Thank our District 5 Commander and Auxilary President for their attendance.
