What an incredible day of fellowship, fun, and memory-making at The Barns at Ferguson Farms!
This past Saturday, Wounded Warriors of Mississippi was honored to join veterans, military families, and children from Baptist Children's Village for a day filled with fishing, hayrides, horseshoes, co****le, a petting zoo, balloon creations, face painting, fellowship, and delicious Southern hospitality.
The excitement reached new heights when our surprise guest arrived—a medical helicopter that landed on-site and gave the children and families an opportunity to explore the aircraft, meet the crew, and experience something many will never forget.
We may have even had a Sasquatch sighting... but we'll let the photos tell that story! 😉
A very special thank you goes to Sharon Ferguson, owner of Ferguson Farms, whose generosity and hospitality made this event possible. Sharon graciously provided overnight accommodations for our veterans and their families, welcomed everyone with thoughtful gift baskets, and went above and beyond to ensure every guest felt appreciated and cared for. Her servant's heart was evident in every detail of the day.
Guests enjoyed a wonderful Southern breakfast and lunch buffet while spending quality time together, creating new friendships and strengthening existing bonds. One of the most meaningful moments of the day came as everyone gathered to leave their thumbprint on a beautiful tree artwork—a lasting reminder of the lives touched and memories shared.
At Wounded Warriors of Mississippi, we believe healing, hope, and camaraderie are often found in moments like these. Watching veterans, families, and children laugh together, catch fish, pet animals, explore a helicopter, and simply enjoy being together reminded us why these events matter so much.
Thank you to Sharon Ferguson, Ferguson Farms, our volunteers, first responders, helicopter crew, Baptist Children's Village, and everyone who helped make this day such a success.
Together, we are building a stronger veteran community—one memory at a time.
