Facts!

After 20 years of practicing medicine, I am convinced that nature is underused as a clinical intervention. We send people to the gym. We rarely send them to the woods.

You do not need a national park. A neighborhood greenway, a botanical garden, a tree-lined street, even a window with a view of trees can offer some of the benefit. Twenty minutes is enough to register a measurable shift. Phone away. Slow steps. Notice five trees.

The forest does not require an appointment.

Where is the closest patch of green you could visit this weekend?

Boone Revisited; Day 3

A run it back trip to Boone, NC was well worth it. The views. The energy. Solitude. Time with Mother Earth. Priceless.

📍Taco Bell…cause where else can you go for late night Vegan food?!

Boone Revisited; Day 2

Day 2 was a day full of scenic drives for and to amazing views.

📍 Leftover dinner became a camper style breakfast.
📍 Blue Ridge Parkway drive to Upper Linville Falls
📍 Linville Falls hike to overlooks and Erwin’s View
📍 Joyce Kistler Road to Linville Gorge Wilderness Area
📍 Hiked the Bynum Bluff Trail
📍 Blue Ridge Parkway drive for sunset
📍 Picnic at Lost Cove Cliffs Overlook
📍 Five Guys because…. FRENCH FRIES! Duh.

Boone revisited; Day 1

Before moving back to FL there were a few places in Boone, NC I wanted to check out but didn’t get the chance to. Thankfully, I was able to take a recent trip back up and spend three days visiting a couple of those spots.

It was an instant hiker’s high once I touched dirt on the AT in Roan. I left the trail this day with a fresh breath and a happy heart. It’s pretty dope to feel the peace of Mother Earth when in Nature.
