A good read—and an important conversation for anyone who cares about the future of South Dakota’s outdoors.

Land access. Wildlife. Water. Habitat. Hunting heritage.

These issues matter far beyond one election cycle, and they deserve thoughtful discussion as South Dakotans consider the future direction of our state.

No matter where you fall politically, conservation and outdoor heritage should remain part of the conversation.

Today we remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It’s a reminder that the freedoms we enjoy—including time spent outdoors with family and friends—came at a cost paid by others.

We’re grateful for those who made the ultimate sacrifice and for the families who continue to carry that burden.

Please take a moment today to remember them.

Over the last week, a lot of you shared what you’re seeing out there—and it’s clear people care about the future of pronghorn in South Dakota.

Populations don’t recover on their own.

They recover because people stay involved.

If this matters to you, consider becoming a member of South Dakota Bowhunters Association.

Recovery doesn’t happen overnight—but it also doesn’t happen without people paying attention and staying involved.👇 Here...

South Dakota’s pronghorn numbers might surprise you.

According to the latest data from South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks:

👉 Current population: ~35,000
👉 Objective: ~68,000

That’s roughly half of where we’d like to be.

Recent years have brought:

* Lower fawn survival
* Tough winters
* Drought conditions

All adding up to slower recovery across much of the state.

This weekend was a good reminder of where the future of archery is headed.

The South Dakota 4-H State Archery Shoot wrapped up, and it’s impressive to see the number of young archers putting in the time and effort.

Discipline, focus, and respect for the sport—it’s all there.

These kids are the next generation of bowhunters, competitors, and conservationists.

👏 Congrats to all the participants, coaches, and families who make it happen.
