Meade County Jr’s finished their year today at the JR KBN Classic. Nolin was being a little stubborn. Teams caught fish but size were avoiding them. When the Dust settled, the teams of Hunter Napier / Logan Poole, Thad Raney / Joel Mills and Brantley Webb Brought fish to the scale, But not enough weight for a top spot. Levi Pike / Easton Anderson and Kale Hager / Jake Hobbs couldn’t get the keeper bites. Overall the team had a good year, Got time on the water and hopefully gained some valuable knowledge going Forward.
Some highlights during the year were the 6.91 tank at Dale Hollow from Hunter Napier / Logan Poole.
Kale Hager/. Jack Hobbs finishing 3rd at Dale Hollow.

In West Team of the Year Standings,
Thad Raney / Joel Mills finished 3rd.
Kale Hager /Jake Hobbs finished 10th

In The State trail divisions
Thad and Joel finished 8th in points with Kale and Jake right behind in 9th.

A big thank you goes out to the Boat captains. It takes time, money and patience to do what you do for these young men. I appreciate it as I know the kids do. Your committment to helping these kids does not go unnoticed.
Lastly, Sponsors, Donors, Family and friends. Thank you for helping make the cost of this so much more easier to manage. Your kind gestures make all of this possible.
Jr Greenwaves great year.

That is a wrap on the 2025/2026 KBN State and West divisions.
The last event for both was a double up tourney on Green River.
The team of Austin Schmidt and Garrett Scott did not disappoint. They came in with a bag of 16.77 which placed them in second place in both the State and West for the day. Other teams with limits and a good showing were Ashton Rosell/Rudy Reeder 17th, Mason Fackler/Landen Brown 16th and Josh Staples/Ethan Williams(sub)26th.

In Jr Division, two teams cracked the top ten as Thad Raney/Joe Mills finished 7th and right behind them in 8th was Kale Hager/Jake Hobbs.

Now we wait to see what team qualify for the KBN HS and JR State Classic.

05/29/2026

Tomorrow the Bass Fishing Team heads to Green River to fish in the last leg of the KBN State and West trail. Yes two tournaments at once. After that, We wait to see who qualifies for HS and JR KBN Classic. JR is Friday and HS is 9/10. Wish these young men a safe outing with tight lines.

As always thank you to all of our amazing Sponsors, supporters, boat Captains and parents. You make it possible.

Yesterday turned out to be a pretty good day on the water. Meade County Fishing teams had some success on the water.

The team of Garrett Scott and Austin Schmidt came in with a bag weighing 16.35. That gave them the honors of second place. Great job by them and Captain Logan.

EDIT:
In the Jr Division, the team of Kale Hager and Jake Hobbs came in with enough weight to get them on the podium. Kale and a Jake finished 3rd in the Jr’s.

Another bright spot was the JR team of Poole and Napier who caught a TANK. They brought in a 6.91 pound Largemouth. Biggest fish of the Day from Jr and High School.

Being a Boat Captain is tough to get weights from teams and pics. It usually takes a few day for final results to come out. So will post those when they do. Here are some pics from yesterday’s event.

Again, Thank you sponsors for making this easier to navigate. Fishing is a very expensive sport. All the support helps make it more manageable for all these teams.

School is out but tomorrow Boats will be out. 11 of 12 Meade teams are fishing the 3rd league of KBN State trail at Dale Hollow. As always wish them luck and safety on the water. Thanks again to all our sponsors who make all this happen.

When we say fishing is eventful and expensive, this weekend was a sample of that. From a lost wallet that flew out of a boat. That was found a mile down lake washed up on bank the next day. To a wheel bearing cap getting knocked off and lighting issues for another boat. A flat Tire and light issue for another. A wheel bearing going out for another And a bent axle hub for another. 5 of 6 boats had something happen. Yet we got everything together and out on the water.
Tournament time saw a drastic slow down for fish. You got the bites but size was not like previous couple days. We talked about 3 fish may get you qualified. That is actually what happened. None of our Meade teams made the cut for state, but we had 4 boats just a fish away from it. The last qualifying weight was 5 lbs 13 ounce. Elijah Coy and Jett Stull fished as hard as they could til last minute to get that one fish to make the cut. Yet could not get the bite and ended up with 4lbs 12 ounces and finished in 36th out of 123 boats. Cameron Henderson was solo but caught 1 nice one for 40th place. Again just a fish away.
Same with Mason Fackler /Landen Brown who finished 45th with 4 lbs and Ryder Williams/Carson Franke finishing 47th with a 3 lb 15 ounce fish. Fish were caught but just not the size needed to qualify.
Josh Staples/Brent Pelts and Rudy Reeder/ Ashton Rosell caught fish but could not get any of size in the boat which tells you how tough it was yesterday because those teams have been consistent all year. All in all we had a fun time fishing, enjoying fellowship and letting the team unwind. All this would not be possible without the support of so many that help these anglers do something they love. Now a small break before we get back to KBN at Dale Hollow lake.

Meade Bass fishing enjoying a meal before KHSAA regionals tomorrow morning. Boys had a great time. A young boy was on other side on a walkway fishing. They convinced him to throw his bait to them so they could drop it on the bass below them. Pretty cool they were trying to help the kid. Second pick is when the kid sent his bait flying to them. Brent Pelts looks like his life is flashing before his eyes. All in all these boys have had a good time. Miss all the Jr teams and our other HS team. Hopefully we can plan more of this in future. Had a lot of laughs.

Good luck tomorrow boys.
