I would like to sincerely thank all of the people who came out last night to support the Residences at South Shore (aka the Zom project). I would also like to thank those that came out in opposition - it’s truly a wonderful thing to see the residents involved regardless of what their views are.

Thank you Town of Braintree Planning Board and Planning Department for all of your work on behalf of our city!

Onwards and upwards! Cheers to progress!

Dear Friends,

I’m reaching out today with urgency and hope. We are so close to making real progress for Braintree. The proposed housing development at South Shore Plaza—an incredible $140 million investment in our town—is just one final special permit away from getting started.

ZOM Living, the developer, has already jumped through countless hoops and faced years of delay due to a small but loud group of obstructionists. And now, they’re planning to show up again at tonight’s Planning Board meeting to try to derail this once more.

Let me be clear: if this project is blocked again, we risk losing it altogether. ZOM may walk away—and with them, so does a brighter future for Braintree.

Here’s what’s on the line:
✅ $2.5 million in upfront fees for our town
✅ $558,000 in annual tax revenue from a site that currently generates nothing
✅ Economic growth by bringing more residents to support our local businesses
✅ Stronger funding which we desperately need for schools, police, and fire services

We can’t let a handful of angry voices drown out the real needs of our community.

🕖 Please, if you can, attend the Planning Board meeting tonight at 7 PM at Town Hall.
Your presence makes a powerful statement. Even a few words of support can go a long way.

📧 If you truly can’t attend, please take a moment to send a quick email to:

The Planning Board: Kimberly Kroha, Chair

The Planning Department: [email protected], [email protected]

Your Town Councilors: [email protected]

Let’s not lose this opportunity. Let’s move Braintree forward—together.

Hope to see you there tonight!!

With gratitude,
Audrey Andronico
