Urgent Call to Action: Protect Gull Lake's Wetland and Shoreline

Dear Friends of Gull Lake,

We urgently need your help to protect critical wetland and significant shoreline along Gull Lake (Wilson Bay) related to this Waterside Development. On October 7, 2025, at the Cass County meeting, the developer and landowner are expected to request the removal of a vital wetland conservation easement. This decision could have lasting impacts on our lake's ecosystem.

If you haven’t yet contacted your elected officials, please do so as soon as possible. Your voice matters! Visit our website at friendsofgulllake.org and navigate to the "Join the Fight" section for guidance on how to write and send letters to your officials.

Residents of Gull Lake Call to Action!

Protect Wilson Bay and Gull Lake

A developer has proposed annexing property into East Gull Lake for a PUD subdivision on the southern part of Wilson Bay known as Barefoot Bay. The plan includes:

• Off-lake access for 69 homes
• Boat launch for private use of development residents, risk of invasive species
• 25+ boat slips (Possibly dedicate slips or 7 docks with 4 boats each)
• Proposed dry dock warehouse (could exceed 100+ boats)
• Potential for short-term rentals
• Marina Amenities (proposed concierge watercraft put in service)
• Swimming Beach and Amenity Center

This project is one of the most ambitious subdivision plans ever proposed on Gull Lake, and it demands careful public review.

This development will change Gull Lake as we know it! This ultimately will affect all residents of Gull Lake.
