Northland Arboretum Over 400 acres of forest, trails, gardens, prairie and more. Located in the heart of Brainerd/Baxter Have a peaceful walk on our nature trails. Winter time?

Northland Arboretum is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to getting the community involved in and aware of nature. We have a wide, beautiful area for you and your family to explore. We've got that covered too! You can cross country ski on our spectacular groomed snow covered trails. Snowshoe or winter hike on non-groomed trails.

The Northland Arboretum Haunted Trail is back, and this year, you’ll have to decide just how much terror you can handle.

October 15, 16 & 17
7:00–9:00 PM

👻 Low Scare — A little fright
😱 High Scare — Things get serious
🧟 Insane High Scare — You’ve been warned.

One ticket gets you one trip through the trail, and you can stop at any scare level along the way.

General Admission tickets are valid on the date purchased.

Fast Pass tickets get you a shorter line and can be used on any one of the three nights.

And there’s more at stake than just surviving the trail. The Haunted Trail is the Arboretum’s largest fundraiser of the year, helping support our trails, gardens, programs, Bike Skills Park, Forest Ice Skating Trail, and future outdoor experiences.

Meet Angie, our Volunteer of the Month for October!

When Angie’s husband said their yard couldn’t become ALL gardens, she found another place to put her love of flowers to work! She joined the Crow Wing County Master Gardeners and came to the Northland Arboretum as an intern in May 2022. Helping restore and maintain our Memorial Garden was a natural fit.

Originally from Ottertail, Angie first came to Brainerd to attend CLC. After spending 12 years in Hutchinson, she and her family returned in 2012 and love calling this community home.

Angie describes herself as a “professional volunteer,” sharing her time with St. Francis Catholic Church, Birthright, and the Master Gardeners. Meeting people through these opportunities has been one of her favorite rewards.

What does she love about the Arb? The many ways to get outside, stay active, and enjoy nature, from gardening and hiking to biking and skating!

Thank you, Angie, for the care you bring to our Memorial Garden and the time you share with our community. Help us celebrate her with a thank-you in the comments! 💚
