The line is making it’s way toward McCulloch County. At this moment, there is nothing severe headed our way. Most of the severe weather is north and south. I will be watching as it gets closer.

Here are our first thoughts on severe weather timing for this afternoon and evening across West Central Texas. The storms will likely start out as scattered during the afternoon and then become more widespread as the storms shift east across the area during the evening hours.

Enhanced risk of severe weather for the entire area late this afternoon into the evening.

The Concho Valley and Big Country has been upgraded to an enhanced risk of severe thunderstorms this evening, as complex of severe thunderstorms moves southeast out of the Permian Basin. Sweetwater, Sterling City, Mertzon could see storm as early as 7 PM with San Angelo and Abilene 9 to 10 PM. Damaging winds of 75 mph and very large hail up to baseball size hail possible. An isolated tornado risk exists, mainly up near Sweetwater and Roby.

The Brady cell has weakened in intensity. I don’t feel that there’s anything that is severe level in McCulloch County at this time. The tornado warned cell is continuing to progress towards Mason.
