💜 September is National Recovery Month — a time to celebrate the courage of those on the path of recovery and to recognize the impact it has on children and families.

At CASA, we know that when parents and caregivers heal, children have a greater chance to grow up in safe, loving, and stable homes. 🌟

This month, we stand with families in recovery and honor the resilience, hope, and strength it takes to build a brighter future.

💛 September is Kinship Care Month 💛

Kinship care happens when grandparents, relatives, or close family friends step in to care for children when their parents are unable to. These caregivers provide not only a safe home, but also love, stability, and the connection to family that children need to thrive. 🌟

This month, we honor and celebrate kinship families—the everyday heroes who keep children supported, loved, and connected. 💙

Today, CASA remembers the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honors the families, survivors, and courageous first responders whose sacrifice and bravery will never be forgotten.

We stand with our community in reflection and remembrance. May this day remind us of the strength in unity and the importance of carrying forward hope and kindness.

We will never forget.

Ever hear about CASA and wonder what it actually is? 🤔 Don’t worry—you’re not the only one!

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) are trained community volunteers who stand up for kids in foster care, making sure their voices are heard and their needs don’t get overlooked. 💙

We’ve put together a quick handout that explains who we are, what we do, and how we serve children right here in Kankakee and Iroquois County.

If you’ve ever thought about getting involved or just want to learn more, this is the perfect place to start. One volunteer really can change a child’s story—and it could be you. ✨

✨We’re so excited to share that our next CASA Volunteer Training will be happening this October!✨

Becoming a CASA means being a consistent, caring adult who makes sure children in foster care have someone in their corner. 💙 No special background is needed—just a heart for kids and the willingness to stand up for them.

If you’ve ever thought about making a difference in a child’s life, this is the perfect time to take the leap. 🌟 Join us for training this fall and be part of a community that is changing stories, one child at a time.
