This morning, our Outdoor Warriors spent time cleaning up Quick Point Preserve and learning about the effects of trash on our environment and seabirds.

A huge thank you to our friends over at Save Our Seabirds for having us and helping our Outdoor Warriors understand the importance of protecting our local wildlife!

A couple of years ago, Ryan Stevens tragically lost his life in a car accident. Today, I feel incredibly honored that Mission ABLE was selected as the first local grant recipient of the Ryan Thomas Stevens Foundation. We are excited to help carry Ryan’s legacy forward by providing outdoor education, exercise, and experiences for people with IDD.

I had the opportunity to sit down with Ryan’s mom, Ellen, and hear more about her amazing son. I learned that Ryan loved all sports, spending time with his family, and cheering on Clemson & Syracuse. Most of all, I got to hear about his kind heart and the special person he was.

Thank you to the Stevens family for choosing Mission ABLE to help carry Ryan’s legacy forward. We are truly honored. 💙

Today I couldn't help but feel an overwhelming amount of gratitude for our community partner, Sunny Side Village.

They continue to provide opportunities for Rooted & Rising and, more importantly, they consistently show our participants so much respect and inclusion.
Today, I got to watch our participants help one of the residents with his garden.

Moments like this are exactly why I love Rooted & Rising so much. I'm so thankful for SunnySide Village and for all of the amazing community partnerships that make programs like this possible.

Outdoor Warriors kicked off this past weekend with a group of 12 ready to explore Florida’s parks!

This week, we were at Lake Manatee, where we hiked, went geocaching, practiced how to safely make a fire, and learned all about animal tracks.

Next stop for our Outdoor Warriors program: Quick Point Preserve & Save Our Seabirds Oct. 10th!

Today we started another program at Sunnyside Village! Once a month, our Rooted & Rising crew will spend time with the nursing home residents doing a nature related activity. This program brings a huge smile to my face, different abilities and generations working side by side.

Later in the day, we spent some time tending to our plants and getting our hands in the garden.
It was a good day!

Rooted & Rising is back!
We'll be in the garden every week and back at the Sunnyside Market on Wednesday, October 7th! Our full crew starts in October, and we're so excited to have an awesome group of individuals participating in our collaborative garden-to-market program
And our first contracted job? Flower vases for the Fall Dance!
A huge thank you to for providing our new uniforms and garden beds! William G. and Marie Selby Foundation

We are looking forward to a busy fall and winter filled with programs and partnerships!

What started as a dream has quickly grown into programs, partnerships, and new friendships. We’re so thankful for everyone who has believed in our vision - especially the Sarasota Boosters Foundation and a local family whose generous founding support helped bring Mission ABLE to life.

Mission ABLE is proud to partner with Sarasota BMX to help expand their Rollling With Abilities program.

Starting in January, we will work alongside Sarasota BMX’s professional coaches to help grow RWA.

A huge thank you to Erma Miller (Track Manager) and Heather Kenyon D'Agostino for approaching us and trusting Mission ABLE with this partnership. We’re excited to hit the track together!
