In honor of Giving Tuesday, The TerraNova Equestrian Foundation is looking back at the incredible impact volunteers made during The Event at TerraNova, an international three-day equestrian competition held at TerraNova Equestrian Center in Myakka City, Florida. Throughout the competition weekend, where "thankful" was the theme, The TerraNova Equestrian Foundation brought back its volunteer match program, donating $20 for every hour worked to a local charity.

This year, volunteers worked to benefit The Azinger Family Compassion Center, a multi-purpose donation and distribution center that provides life-changing resources for foster children, hungry children, trafficked children, single moms, and struggling families from the surrounding community.

Volunteers from near and far put in a combined 726.5 hours for a grand total $14,530 that The TerraNova Equestrian Foundation donated to The Azinger Family Compassion Center.

Under the canvas of a breathtaking sunset, Saturday evening's festivities at The Event at TerraNova unfolded with laughter, tender moments, and a spirit of togetherness. The concert echoed with Jonny Diaz's soulful tunes, and Tim Boyd's comedy show filled the air with joy. Stay tuned- we look forward to producing more events such as this which bring the community together to benefit charities like One More Child and Guardian Angels of Southwest Florida. The Reins of Resilience Award Perpetual Trophy has been lovingly created in memory of Gabriella Lee Reitmeyer, a passionate young eventer who passed away this year at the age of 15 after her courageous battle with cancer.

This trophy will be awarded each November during The Event at TerraNova. The award recognizes one young rider facing a life challenge or adversity who has used eventing to help cope with or overcome their challenges.

The recipient will receive their name on the perpetual trophy that will be displayed in the TerraNova show office trophy case, a certificate for a free TerraNova fall event entry and stall, and a donation will be made in honor of Gabriella Lee Reitmeyer.

This year’s recipient is Abigail Bennett.

Gabriella’s parents, Gina and Doug, were inspired by Abigail’s journey and her relationship with horses, demonstrating how she embraced the healing power of bonding with horses to get her through a very challenging time in her life.

Yesterday was National Philanthropy Day! A lot of pride and dedication goes into giving back to our community, and we encourage all who can to do the same. We’d love to highlight once again the three charities that we have been fortunate enough to support through the efforts through The Event at TerraNova:

- Southeastern Guide Dogs
- Sarasota Manatee Association for Riding Therapy (SMART)
