A sacred covenant is being made.

On June 20, 2026, the Lipan Apache Tribe of Brackettville Texas will stand at Las Moras Springs — and sign a historic treaty with the Black Seminole communities of Texas and Coahuila.

Named for these sacred waters, the Historic Las Moras Springs Treaty is a promise between two peoples bound by this same soil — a rejection of the forces that once divided us, and a commitment to the future we build together.

This moment happens at SISCA’s Juneteenth Celebration in Brackettville, Texas.
