Happy Stay Wild Wednesday!

This Stay Wild Wednesday, we are so excited to offer BRAND NEW courses this summer as add ons to the 2026 season!

TRAILHEAD | HOT AIR BALLOON-PACKING 🪂🎈🔥

This is a 6 day introductory course that takes to the skies!
Course highlights:
🎈Traveling by hot air balloon instead of by foot will allow for students to get further into the backcountry
🎈Develop knowledge of catching thermals in a hot air balloon
🎈Witness Montana Wilderness and Birds like never before
🎈Emphasis on teamwork and leadership!
Trailhead | Hot Air Balloon-Packing is being offered June 31st-July 5th for High Schoolers and August 2nd-7th for Middle Schoolers. Check out our website for more info!

WILDERNESS | SOURCE-TO-SEA PACKRAFTING & DEEP SEA FISHING 🌊 🎣 🚣‍♀️

This is our longest course offering ever! 160 days spent packrafting along the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers until we reach the Gulf of Mexico when students will spend a week deep water fishing.
Course highlights:
🌊Extended time living in the backcountry, truly honing in packrafting and deep sea fishing
🌊Running class 2-3 rapids on the Gulf Stream
🌊Emphasis on river navigation, teamwork and leadership!
🌊Beautiful sights and wildlife across the United States!
This course is being offered to High Schoolers only, launching April 31st and returning October 12th.

Financial aid available for both course, oh, and HAPPY APRIL FOOLS! 😉 ⛰️

Welcome back to another Stay Wild Wednesday! This week we are taking a look at something we do a lot on every one of our courses… cooking!

On an MWS course, students dive into technical skills, leadership, communication and placed based lesson but one of the most fun (and delicious) skills gained is backcountry cooking 🧑‍🍳 ⛰️ 🔥

From eggs and hashbrowns to backcountry pizza and burrito bowls, and even huckleberry pancakes during berry season 🫐, students learn how to use a backcountry stove to cook all their own meals in the field. Students develop a sense of what ingredients are needed to make meals other than oatmeal and ramen in the backcountry and walkaway feeling more confident and independent! A skill they’ll have for life in and out of the backcountry.

Our courses are sent out with ingredient based foods that allow students to try new things, get creative, and build community around the stove!

To kick off our Stay Wild Wednesday series, let us introduce to you our ✨ Trailhead | Water & Mountain Course ✨

New this year our Trailhead, or introductory, Water & Mountain course is a 6-day long adventure combining 2 days of packrafting on the Yellowstone River and 4 days of backpacking through the wilderness in Southwest Montana. This course is designed for those eager to build confidence and competence across multiple outdoor disciples!

We have a Trailhead | Water & Mountain course for HIGH SCHOOLERS and another for MIDDLE SCHOOLERS!

Expedition highlights:
💥 Packraft the Yellowstone River; the longest free flowing river in the lower 48 states!
💥Learn how to read swiftwater and understand river safety
💥Backpack in remote wilderness areas
💥Navigation, orienteering, and wilderness travel skills
💥Experience Abundant wildlife and pristine ecosystems
