GoGallatin Rethinking transportation in the Gallatin County to offer people more transportation options

GoGallatin is all about expanding transportation options for commuters and residents of the Gallatin County. Western Transportation Institute, Montana State University, the City of Bozeman, and several of Bozeman’s largest employers are working together to develop creative approaches to transportation and mobility issues. Our goals are to increase the convenience, benefits, safety, and incentives

associated with taking the bus, car sharing, walking, biking, vanpooling or any combination of those in your commute. As Bozeman’s population booms, we aim to encourage transportation options that are economically efficient, environmentally sustainable, and make the best use of our surrounding spaces. Help us rethink transportation and build a Bozeman we can all get around in!

Last Friday marked the end of the most recent GoGallatin Challenge!

Thank you to everyone who made it a success - in fact, the most successful ever!

Results are ranked by the average number of trips per person per team.

Again, a big thank you to all of our sponsors, participants, and to everyone who came out to the Festival of Bikes and Bike to Work Day, too!

Whether you are driving or biking, dooring is something everyone wants to avoid.

If you are bicycling, ride at least 3 feet away from parked cars and be alert to doors opening suddenly.
If you are driving, look for bicyclists before opening your car door. Crack the door, pause, and then continue to open, giving bicyclists a chance to avoid a collision.

Be safe, Missoula!
