A BIG thank you to Jenni Holzworth and Lane H. for their presentation on Wednesday! It was extremely informative and FUN. We learned all about recycling, the different types of recycling and some great statistics! Did you know the average person makes FIVE POUNDS of garbage a DAY?!? That's a lot, especially when you multiply it by the number of people in your house! We played a recycling game. My kids went home and started a recycling box that night! We also voted on our activity next month. We will be making Valentine's with the elderly! :) If you are interested, would like to bring treats, or have a charity in mind that we could donate to, please call or message April @ 539-0763. :) A date and time will be posted once I confirm through the facility.

Just a reminder~ Our first meeting of 2012 will be at the Fire Station by the Dinosaur Park, in the Community room. This WEDNESDAY at 6 p.m. :) We will be learning all about recycling. Bring stuff to practice recycling AND A FRIEND! We will also be accepting blanket and towel donations for the Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter. :) See ya soon!

NEXT MEETING INFO: We will be meeting WEDNESDAY, January 18 at the Community room at Fire Station 3 by the Dinosaur Park. We will be talking about recycling. Our chosen charity for donations is the Humane Society. Please bring recyclable material that we can practice recycling with and a few old blankets or towels that we can "recycle" to them. It's always amazing being recognized for your hard work and your vision as an adult, but it a whole other world for a 5 year old! :) KyLee was recognized for her job in creating the GVCC and received a special surprise in the mail for it! Read all about it and two other very special little princesses below! And don't forget to join us for our January meeting. Our mini guest speaker Lane will be talking to us all about recycling!

Okay! So we did get a caroling spot figured out and would like to invite you all to join us! We are caroling next Tuesday night at 6:00 at Highgate Senior Living (Off of 19th and Oak). Please invite your friends and join us for a fun night. We will probably carol with the kids, singing about 5-8 songs, depending on attentions, and then visit with the residents for a bit after. They LOVE children and will be looking forward to this event. :) Remember our meeting in January will be centered around recycling! Happy Holidays!

Thank you to everyone who helped kick off our first meeting! KyLee was a bit jumpy...and a little nervous at first. :) I will post photos soon of the food the club collected for the Gallatin valley Food Bank. :) We got to brainstorm some great ideas for future projects and outings and even talked about a Christmas Shoebox or Soldier box.
