The other recipient of the MABA/MGEA Agri-Business 4-H Scholarship is Samuel O’Hara! He is a fifth-generation Montanan who has always loved the outdoors and growing immersed in the Montana way of life. He says that living here has allowed him to enjoy a dream childhood, running across open land, hunting, riding horses, and watching sunsets. He enjoys hunting, fly fishing, skiing, training bird dogs, being active in his church, and helping his neighbors and community.

This year marks Samuel’s 13th year in Gallatin County 4‑H. In 2025, he chose to attend Western College of Auctioneering, where he discovered his true calling. He will attend the University of Montana Western to study Farm and Ranch Management and Business, to pursue a career in livestock auctioneering and work with livestock. 🍀🐂

Meet the Teens Behind the Magic🌺🍀🏝️ Let’s hear it for the 21 incredible teen counselors who made our 2026 “Trip to Paradise” 4-H Camp unforgettable!

The Gallatin County 4-H Camp is one of the only single-county camps in Montana, and is entirely planned and run by our teens! For nine months, these counselors worked together to plan, prepare, create activities, solve problems, and build an incredible camp experience for 70 younger 4-H members. Then they showed up and DELIVERED!🌴💚

They led games, taught workshops, supported campers, handled the unexpected, and brought the energy from sunrise to lights out. Most importantly, they stepped into leadership and showed our younger members what it looks like to serve, lead, and make a difference.

We celebrated their hard work with tropical themed end-of-year Counselor Awards, recognizing the unique personalities, talents, and contributions that made our counselor crew so special.
