Yesterday's Educational Symposium was jam-packed with information relevant to both the Simmental breed and the larger industry. Past ASA EVP Dr. Jerry Lipsey started the day by discussing key moments and turning points in the Association's history, accompanied by a panel of Simmental pioneers. The afternoon featured talks from Dr. Andrew Griffith, Dr. Ryan Rathmann, Dr. Troy Rowan, and Dr. Dale Woerner, covering red meat yield, consumer demand, female selection, cow efficiency, and more. Dr. Elizabeth Dressler, ASA Lead Geneticist, and Dr. Ryan Boldt, IGS Lead Geneticist, discussed new and upcoming changes to the IGS Multi-breed Genetic Evaluation. If you missed Fall Focus but want to learn from these industry experts, each session will be released on IGS TV in the coming months!
