Big Sky Watershed Corps Connecting communities to local watershed conservation since 2011.

The Big Sky Watershed Corps will assist Montana’s watershed communities to make a measurable difference in local conservation efforts while bolstering the experience of young professionals emerging from academia. AmeriCorps members will focus on watershed research, planning and project implementation, watershed education and outreach, and community engagement.

Big Sky Watershed Corps wouldn't be celebrating our 10th year if it weren't for the support of our amazing partners, like the Bitter Root Water Forum.

In 2011, the Bitter Root Water Forum got its first Big Sky Watershed Corps member. They’ve had a BSWC member every year since. We sat down with Heather Barber, Executive Director at the Water Forum, to reflect on a decade-long relationship with the program.

- Educated over 10,000 community members 📚
- Recruited and managed over 1,000 volunteers 💪
- Maintained/improved over 70 miles of waterway 🏞️

We love to see Big Sky Watershed Corps members innovating in their communities!

BSWC Members Brant Dupree, Jen Riddle, and Colin Threlkeld recently won the UM Public Service Academy's Baucus Innovation Video Challenge! They've spent their terms of service working on aquatic invasive species prevention with the Upper Columbia Conservation Commission, Missoula County W**d District, MT Fish, Wildlife, and Parks, and the Central & Eastern Montana Invasive Species Team.
